Wow, he's down to a .495 TS%. Lowest since 2009-2010. He is so bad. |

He plays fast not hard. He stands around on offense when he doesn't have the ball and on defense as well. He is a liability on both ends of the court. |
Astute observation; not every play is like that but many are. |
I do not think that has anything to do with being lazy (not to put words in anyones mouth). Its more related to not being smart and not knowing how to contribute when he is off the ball (which is not where he usually plays). I do not like the guy and I want him gone yesterday but he gives more effort than most of the team. The effort is futile (sucks and not smart), but he does try. Defensively, I think he gives more effort as well. Just the other night against the Celts, we were talking about him going up against Tatum. It seemed he willingly want to guard Tatum while some appeared to play scared and wanted no part of him. If we do not off him, he should be riding the bench. |

Yeah, he seems gung-ho some of the time, other times he seems out of position. Both happen regularly, so perhaps your explanation is the right one. |

I think he's accustomed to playing one style. I do give him props for taking a 6th man role but Ham has to be able to not finish games with him. Celtics literally use Luke Kornet to shut down Russ, and it's going to get ugly when other teams do that. He has a place in non-crunch time minutes or close games where he can eat innings in the 2nd through early 4th Q minutes. But I have no confidence closing games out with him.
Imagine 2 must-win play-in games. Do you trust Russ to close out those games in crunch time? I don't. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

You think Russ is envious of current Harden, who in a reduced role is an elite floor spacer, high volume 3 pt shooter, and more efficient passer?

That's a good comparison. Harden has aged more gracefully this season for sure. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

One of Russ's best traits as a Laker is he is available for games.

Harden has the outside game and the effective in scoring. The advanced stats were always so good on Harden that his boy Morey argued that he was better than prime Kobe and MJ. So no doubt that even later in his career he has aged all right. His main issue is defense always has been, and him fading in the playoffs.
Harden and Lebron, IMO would make much better fits than WB and Lebron. Of course you can sub in Kyrie there, or any star that can shoot the ball. Lebron doesn't have natural chemistry with any of those guys, but a player that can shoot and be a threat that extends the defense allows Lebron to truly maximize his impact. |

I’m over the Westbrook experience. Can’t get these past few years back in our lives, hope Rob moves this guy before the deadline. |

I hope he can end up putting together multiple good games in a roll because the team needs all the help it can get, I don’t want him to have 1 good game and then end up with a few lousy 1’s like the games we saw prior to tonight’s win |

It feels like the Lakers are sticking it to LeBron and AD for asking for this. We play better basketball without him. He provides super boosts of energy in both great and horrendous ways. They cance each other out. I just want Dennis...and reeves to handle the ball and make decisions.... |

I'm not so sure about that.
Russ plays pretty well with Lebron only lineups or AD only lineups. The fit between the three is where we run into the issues.
I personally don't think he gets traded. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

This has been my view for a while.
Russ alone is not good. The numbers bear that out.
Russ/AD is ok. Russ/LBJ is ok.
But with the trio, does not work. And at the end of the day, that's what will matter most b/c he can have a great bench performance when he comes in up to the 4th, but he can immediately wipe those out with some puzzling plays in crunch time. That's why we can point to the Knicks game as one of the few times he closed out OT or a close game well.
I won't lie. He has value to this team as a bench playmaker but you absolutely cannot rely him to close games. He mucks it up spacing wise and I was surprised Thibs didn't just stick a big center on him like Boston (2x), Clips, Blazers, etc. did. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Russ/AD is okay. Russ+LBJ when AD was gone was great. But I feel like Russ in crunchtime in a play-in/playoff format, regardless of who is on the floor, is a disaster. So throw out the net rtgs. |

Russ helped hoist up 14 potential rebounds in 16 shots, really looking to get his team involved tonight. |

I just can’t with this guy. No shot at the playoffs or in the playoffs with him. He has to go. I’d rather have Bev over him. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

2-16 think in a game we won by 1 point.
Give those shots to Walker or someone else
That's 12%.
