I've followed Mason Jones as a player for the SB Lakers. IMO he has a skillset that could translate to the NBA level.
Jones led SBLakers (25.6) in scoring and ranked second in rebounds and assists. He is a willing and able defender.
He's poised and not afraid of the moment. I was hoping that we would have released some of the older guys and brought Jones up sooner.
The FO needs to keep this guy, he is a young asset with more than 30 NBA games experience.

Jones -- -- Several And-1s in this game. He’s a strong guy and can absorb that contact well. He didn’t miss a shot from the floor, including sinking a one-on-three three on the break. I liked his read, diving off Augustin’s drive on one of those And-1 scores. Got to love the efficiency -- 4 shots and 13 points (THT had 12 more shots and 2 more points). The Stats: He scored 13 points on 4-4 shooting (1-1 from three, 4-5 from the line) to go with 3 boards, 1 assist and 3 fouls in 18 minutes. He was a +21. The Action: Dish to Ellington on break for a layup. Attack and muscle up an And-1 in paint on iso. // Dive off DJ drive who hit him for And-1 layup at end of third. Took contact, heard whistle and threw it up to bank it in from about 13 feet out And-1. Stop on a one-on-three and hit the three.

Mason Jones Not Taking Opportunity For Granted
Quote:
Jones certainly did impress in his 18-minute home debut for the Lakers. By the end of the night, he had 13 points, three rebounds, one assist and zero turnovers.
Jones was also 4-for-4 from the field and sank his only 3-pointer of the night.

Mason Jones reacts to getting a chance to play for Lakers
Quote:
The 23-year-old played 18 minutes and scored 13 points on a perfect shooting. It was his third game with the Lakers. Over the three games he averaged 6 points and 1.7 assists.

Good thing is that he didn't miss any last night (4-4).

In final games, Lakers keep evaluating their role players for next season

Quote:
The second-runner up for G League MVP had just played 43 minutes the night before as the South Bay Lakers were eliminated by just two points from the playoffs. Jones had scored a team-high 33 points, and was disappointed to lose. But he acknowledged that friends had pointed that defeat as “a blessing in disguise,” allowing the 6-foot-4 guard to get a sniff in the Lakers’ final games.

“I wanted to showcase my talents the last couple of games,” he said. “And being able to really take advantage of this home game as a Laker.”

Decent game vs Denver. Mason played hard and defensively held his own.
Jones is not afraid of contact, he has the ability to draw fouls and knock down FT's.
