Entering his freshman season at Wichita State, Reaves underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He had been playing through the injury since his junior year of high school. After [his freshman] season, Reaves underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, which had dislocated three times during his college career.
After his sophomore season, Reaves transferred to Oklahoma and sat out his following season due to NCAA transfer rules. During his redshirt year, he weight trained and gained 20 lbs (9.1 kg).[11] On March 7, 2020, Reaves recorded a career-high 41 points, six assists and five rebounds in a 78–76 win over TCU.

Liked what I saw, he seems to have a good knowledge about the game and seemed to adjust as the game continued. I liked what I saw potentially on the defensive end too. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Austin is hillbilly Kobe. Matt mcclung is g league fodder. There was some hype surrounding him, but I don't think he's gonna pan out at the NBA level.

McClung has zero NBA skill. He has athleticism but, no NBA skills at all. I am not sure that he is even G-League level.
McClung is like a fan that got a chance to live his dream and actually play in a real game. Dude looks way out of place. He can jump but he has no business being out there.

Don't count him out just yet - the kid was on the Big East All Freshman team and was able to score 15 PPG in D1. I'd give him a year on the SBL to see if his game grows. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by his defensive instincts and tenacity in the first pre-season game. It was obviously mostly against end of the bench guys but it was great to see regardless. Nice project at the end of the bench for sure.

Reaves and McClung are both G-Leaguers who can’t shoot.
Tell me you've never seen Austin Reaves without telling me you've never seen Austin Reaves.
I’ll definitely enjoy eating crow if his shot translates to the NBA level because so far his shooting has sucked in the last game and all of Summer League. _________________

And at OU. His role was different at OU since he was used much more on-ball, but he was excellent as a catch and shoot player at WSU.
Hopefully he gets back to that level of shooting off-ball. He’s definitely got the mechanics.
let's face it, he hasn't prove he is a good spot up shooter yet which is what we needed to see from him. since he has good ball handling ability, he always does those pump fake and drive stuff. i think for the lakers to give him that contract, they must saw enough of his spot up shooting in practice. i hope the coaching stuff can make him shoot spot up jumpers more to show his worth.
Good job from Reaves. 16 min, 9 pts (3-4 from 3), 2 rebs and 2 steals. Game high +9. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
