Did anyone catch Robert Horry saying on the Spectrum SportsNet postgame show that Reaves is starting to remind him of Brent Barry?
I think that's actually a good comp for Reaves' ceiling.
Ball-handling in the open court, 3-point shooting, hitting the open man when needed and playing defense.
Reaves is and probably won't be elite at any of those things, but he's above-average at them and he's a good utility player.
Hopefully he becomes equal to Alex Caruso as a defender. If he does, he'll easily be a better player than Caruso, who doesn't have anywhere close to the offensive skills or visceral feel for the game that Reaves has. |

HILLBILLY KOBE
What a gem of a player.
Too bad Rambis will trade him for a 44 year old Iguodala or something like that (big names!!!!!!!) |

Really depends on team needs. Reaves is more multifaceted than Caruso, but Caruso is basically an all-NBA level defender. What's crazy to me is how both went undrafted. Lakers really know how to find them. _________________ "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." — Gandhi |

That end of game steal, behind the back dribble (twice) & layup reminded me of Jerry West! 👍 😀 _________________ My Laker squad.

very impressed with his passing ability, on point passes while moving, that's really great understanding of the game
looks like his behind the back dribble is his go to move. he might want to mix it up with crossovers because that is a dangerous dribble which will be carefully studied by other teams when Reaves gets more PT. |

Austin Reaves needs to be our starting point; main playmaker, setting everyone up. |

Seeing his grittiness and watching these playoffs I certainly hope he gets a look. If his d improves just a little at the point of attack he will be a good solution. |

Reaves is one of the younger players who actually has shown his impact will lead to wins. I don't get excited about young players who put up numbers and the results aren't there. It's too easy to fall in love with those kinds of numbers and potential.
What Reaves is - not a star in the making, even though the triple trouble last game was special. But a guy that can be a glue guy or starting caliber player (eventually) if he keeps working on his game. He certainly has the NBA level IQ.
The thing with Reaves, you wanna have some elite/high level athletes around him, because with old Lebron and injury prone AD the team can come off as mismatched (lacking speed/athleticism) when facing younger teams with stars on the rise. Wonder if Pelinka figured out anything from what Vogel was trying to show him with Stanley/Gabriel and Monk playing with Reaves and AD/Bron. We need an athletic big wing and another athletic 2 guard that can defend 1s. No idea if Pelinka sees this and just goes for names or guys that he thinks will shoot well around AD/Bron. |

So our incompetent GM really gave him a 1+1 contract instead of a 4 year so he is a free agent after the upcoming season. Alex Caruso situation all over again. _________________ Go Lakers! |

Not really, probably a battle between him and Lonnie Walker for the starting 2 spot |
