Dwight leaving right after winning the whole thing was a really sour experience. I made a giant assumption that he was coming back. Last year, after he posted he was coming back, I breathed a sigh of relief because it was my belief then, and still my belief now, that he with Davis & LeBron make us a super unique frontline.

I absolutely loved the look and feel of our team when they played together. There are some on here who say he's washed up. From what? Stud athleticism? Strong as an ox? Can still run the floor better than most 5's? He never had a refined offensive game so he can't be washed up in that respect either. He's not washed up.

I'm so happy his unpredictable a_s is back. Now sign him before a feather lands on his head and he changes his mind as a result.

eager to see D39 play this year. age aside, he looks and moves like a fricken 20 something. of course Dwight himself at 20 something was utterly impossible, but he's still a beast regardless.

he has 3 jobs, catch lobs, scare the crap out of opposing players and set brick wall picks. he knows that though.

He really needs to work on setting picks. He gets called for moving picks too many times.

Yeah he does, but sometimes it's a case of the offensive player not giving him time to get set before moving. It's a real coordinated effort on both party's part.

I cannot put into words how upset I was when he wasn't resigned... ROAR!!!!!

Dude is a Physical BEAST.. and he is playing like a young Rodman with enthusiasm and character.. dependable.. Scary to the opposition to bang with or get banged on...

Thank you for keeping your infectious attitude and coming back!!

Perfectly stated. He is exactly what was missing from last season in my opinion along with too many bricks from outside shooters.

I love getting him back on the squad, no doubt he can still do what he did for the Lakers less than 12 months ago.

The downside is his every game of 1 or 2 offensive fouls a game. But it didn’t seem to bother the Lakers much during the Championship season.

Dudley recruiting players for the Lakers, he’s acting like assistant GM to Rob!

People talk about the freakish athleticism that guys like Lebron and Westbook have been able to maintain.....or at least the lack of dropoff from their earlier years. How about Dwight....dude will be 36 in December and had major back surgery. When is the last time we have seen a legit big maintain his level of athleticism this late into his career?

I'm actually quite happy about this. He played a big role in getting us into position for the title run, and he played the role expected of him very well.

Should be a 1st ballot HOF. That ring was the cherry on top of a HOF career.

Happy to have him back.

Thrilled Dwight is back....he fills a specific need on this team.

Would really rather have him off the bench with heavy minutes with a starter in front of him that can space the floor and pass well....if that is Marc then so be it.

Still wish we could have found a way to get Damian Jones back.....

he needs to limit his stupid fouls/techs and we'll be good. Should have never let him go last year

I agree he does have some stupid fouls he can work on lessoning a bit but I think his fire and fierce competitiveness that sometimes causes techs is part of the package and you can't take that away without basically neutering him in the process. As a minimum signing it's 100% worth the the ticking time bomb he is because we as fans know about it but more importantly the opposition does as well which I believe we'll need throughout the year and especially the Playoffs. This is something that was a glaring hole last season to me once I reflected back onto the season is that while we were still a defensive minded team we didn't really have that enforcer at all. He's def. got some of that Rodman or Sheed idgaf about him which can be frustrating sometimes but overall it's for the better imo.

Drummond might be in his prime and gobble up a lot of rebounds but he hasn't come close to fully accepting that he's simply not a top option on a really good team. Dwight knows his role at this point in his career and gives it his all to the few areas he excels in and doesn't veer very far outside of them which makes him a beast as a role player in limited minutes and a drastically better fit for us. I had high hopes for Drummond that turned into mostly disappointment so i'm glad we basically swapped with Phili.

I still believe this team is going to surprise a lot of people on the defensive end, they probably wont be 1st anymore but I still see them being top 5-10 at worst once things start really gelling hopefully mid season.

Rambis. Playing years and then was assistant coach in 90s and made mini returns as a player during injury spells in both 1994 and 1995. Technical, but still counts. Dwight would obviously be the first w/ full season duties.

1994 is the year that fascinates you, rite, Candy? Am I thinking of someone else? You've posted numerous what was da Nine Fo' like threads and questions.

I was born in 1994, so yeah.

Crazy how things work out...

Last season with AD and Lebron(?) hurt in the playoffs it was a wash. If Dwight was still with us I'd predict he would've left this year.

But now he's back with a super team!

I remember listening to LeBron say "The ball has energy"
The BBall IQ of this team has gone up and it will spread amongst each other.

More like Dwight's patience went on vacation last offseason when Rob told him he'd get back to him and BAM signed with Philly immediately.

Dwight Howard on how the Lakers can attempt to fast track chemistry and cohesion like they did in his last stint (2019-20), when they also had several new players:

"It’s about sacrifice … what are you willing to give up to get the trophy?"

Dwight Howard on knowing his role at this stage of his career:

"Rebounding, playing defense, catching lobs. That’s all I gotta focus on."

I love this vet!!!
More like him please.

I'm sorry but that was our bad.

You don't treat a Hall of Fame player who was willing to sign with you for the minimum two years in a row like he's a regular scrub.

Welcome back, Dwight... excited for the new season!

Ho Grant. He was key in the 2001 title run, replaced with a younger player (with bad hands), Samaki Walker, then, signed him again for another title run in 2004.

His first stint could be when he turned us down in 94, coincidentally

Dwight has a ring and he has respect now. I'm sure it wasn't easy to change his attitude like that. He put the work in. Happy for him.
