Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts dies at 80
Had a feeling something was up when it was announced he wouldn't be on tour. Pretty much a legend from a preeminent band. Glad I got see him both with the Stones and with ARMS tour way back in the day. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Ah, heard Get Off Of My Cloud earlier. Now I know why. And not, Time Is On My Side.
Liked the cymbalwork in Emo Rescue. RIP. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Got to see them in 2016 and it was one of the best gigs I’ve witnessed. Charlie was on that night. Loved his groove and steady hand. Definitely a quintessential guy in that band. The man embodied elegance, tastefulness and consistency through his playing.
Rest easy Charlie. |

Wasn't Rolling Stones magazine inspired by the group? RIP _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The best drummers seem to be the ones that fade into the background. Charlie, John Densmore, their only objective is to keep the beat, not to be the show. I saw the Stones many times, RIP Charlie Watts. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Charlie was the least flamboyant of the stones, on and off stage, and was probably the best musician in a band full of them. Just the consummate drummer who could play to any groove you wanted, give you tasty fills where needed, and never drop a beat. _________________ “We must always take sides. You're probably right there. While Ringo may be the worst musician in the Beatles, Charlie may musically be the best in the Stones, well, except when they had Mick Taylor. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

I liked how understated he was...never made it about himself.
And was the only drummer The Stones ever had, very impressive career.
RIP Charlie.... _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Very good drummer and a real contrast to Jagger and Richards. Lent a quiet, quirky dignity to the Stones. |

She'd make a grown man cryyyyy-yiiiiye...
She'd make a dead man cooooooo-uuh-uuum...
Baby, baby, baby, you're out of time!....
I see a line of cars
And they're all painted black
With flowers and my love
Both never to come back
Ooh, a storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Ooh yeah I'm gonna fade away _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

I had the distinct pleasure of doing some work for Mr. Watts about 20 years ago and I'm very proud of the few, little bits of things that I was able to for him.
