RIP

Is Betty White the only one still alive from MTM? I never watched the show I remember Ed mostly from his role as a retired stock car driver in this obscure sitcom Thunder Alley(which also starred Haley Joel Osment as his grandson).

One of those guys I grew up watching, from primetime viewing of his Lou Grant on MTM with my parents to his later Lou Grant in the one hour drama.

He became a bit a 9/11 conspiracy nutjob later in life, but a really enjoyable actor to watch over the years.

Great actor. He was even effective recently as William Zabka's irascible and terrible stepfather in the Cobra Kai series, in some limited scenes.

He seemed to be a genuinely nice man. RIP

He was everywhere. IMDB list like 10 things still in pre-production. RIP Lou.

Last member of the MTM show's main cast to pass away. Didn't realize Gavin McLeod just passed four months ago.

This was from an article back in 2019:

Quote:
“Keep your mind active,” the Lou Grant star — who turns the big 9-0 on November 15 — exclusively shared with Closer at the event on Sunday, November 3. He referred to his secrets to living a long and prosperous life, including “working, reading, being with people who can excite you, sexual.”
