How many games will we win this season? Besides how well Westbrook fits in, there are other factors such as health, 3-point shooting, defense and how much this team prioritizes home court advantage.
I think if we stay healthy and Westbrook fits in, this team has the chance to be special. I'm talking about not just winning the championship, but winning well over 60 games and being one of the greatest Lakers teams ever.
I remember two years ago when we got AD and a bunch of new players, everyone was saying we were going to get off to a slow start and we wouldn't finish first in the west. When the season was suspended due to COVID-19, we were on pace to win something like 62-65 games.

I think high 50's. We are in a way fortunate that our starting schedule is about as easy as we could ask for so that will hide a lot of the growing pains any new roster will have and we can potentially win any of the games on talent alone against weaker opponents.
That massive road trip we have a bit into the season and onwards we'll hopefully have a somewhat solid rotation and good chemistry that will only be growing by then because talent alone wont keep winning on the road against elite competition consistently.
We have a roster that can easily still survive without any of our top 3 guys for a stretch here and there in the regular season so I like our chances. Then you add the fact that some of the more dangerous West teams are going to be missing one of there top players for significant time as well.
There's the Redemption vibes in the air again as well that we had two years ago with vets and young guys looking to prove there worth.
A ton of question marks on this roster for sure but I like our chances this season.

I think we will win as many games necessary to float around the top 3 seeds, and if it's super close then they will ramp it up to claim top seed. If another team is over-zealous with getting top seed, then the Lakers will just let them

I am guessing around 52.
Just curious VLF does this current roster Impress you more then the team that lost to the Suns in the 1st round?
They are better constructed to withstand injuries to their top players. But 4-14 they are a team that was built off of the scrap heap. Players 1-3 will determine success or failure. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I'm not sure I'd use the term scrap heap. Ya, a lot of the older vets were cast-offs, with little left in the tank, but Nunn and Monk are solid pick-ups.
One of the main reasons for the Westbrook trade was to take pressure off the big two in the regular season. The brain trust believes you can throttle them down in the middle of the season and place more of the burden on Russ, while still winning games at a very high percentage...something the team struggled with last year.
Adding in vets that can play over their contracts for limited stretches of time is going to help as well.

I agree completely with this prediction. 59 was the number that popped into my head when thinking about this. Sure, we're going to do some load managing, as we have lots of older players, but we have amazing team depth.
Russ and Nunn can lead the team to wins against some of the really bad lottery/tanking teams…you know the ones that last year’s Lakers embarrassed themselves against…

So many unknowns at this point even if we know the roster. My guess:
I'm going with 55 - 27 this season, with some sporadic downtime for each of our big 3. I think our scrap heap will work well together with some of the more experienced personalities like Rondo on the bench keeping people on the same page. We have two fiercely competitive and outspoken leaders in LeBron and Westbrook setting the tone now as well. If Vogel gets this team playing out of the same playbook on both ends of the court, and I think he's good at doing so, then I think in spite of a lot of load management we'll see about 55 wins.
A serious injury to any one of our top 3 and that goes out the window of course.
