"Trevor did everything he could to make it through the injury without missing any time or without any procedure. So ultimately it was just making sure that we got it cleaned up, and hopefully we'll get him back as soon as we can."

Vogel said that after going through the non-contact part of the Lakers' first practice, Ariza realized his ankle "just wasn't where it needed to be."

After more evaluation, both sides decided surgery was "the best course of action."

I have no idea where these injuries happened during the game. But it's not fun. Especially as groin sprains can linger and always come back almost immediately even worse than before.

Hopefully we'll see this entire roster at some point during the year. Hopefully.

Vogel said that they expect Malik Monk to be out for about a week with the strained right groin, while THT (right thumb sprain) is still being evaluated.

The hope is that Monk will be ready to go by the regular season opener, but they’ll see where he’s at in a week.
