Years ago the estimate was $1 mil a playoff game generated. Of course that isn’t all profit.

Closely held secret for most teams.

Generally, I believe teams to generate money in the following ways:
1. League profit sharing - those who make the playoffs get a different cut than those that don't. Not sure of the specifics.
2. TV deals - Lakers at one point (probably still) had the largest local TV deal with Time Warner (now Spectrum). A few years ago, during the COVID season, it was reported that they stood to make $1.5M per game once the season resumed. https://lakersnation.com/lakers-news-team-stands-to-make-12-million-for-eight-regular-season-games-spectrum-sportsnet/2020/06/09/
3. Tickets and Concessions
4. Other marketing sales. Jersey patches, on-court advertisement (that the nba continues to ignore talking about), off-court activities, etc.

Over the years, I've seen lots of difference statistics. I've seen reports that playoff games generate $2 million to $12 million in revenue.

It is going to vary from team to team depending on (1) arena size, (2) ticket prices, and (3) concessions, parking, merchandizing, etc.

For example, the Athletic estimated that the Warriors in 2018 grossed $130 million in their 11 home playoff games in 2018. Of that amount, they kept $39 million.

How accurate that is is anyone's guess. But at the upper end, a team that makes it all the way through the finals could probably add an additional $50 million in revenues.
