Mookie atones for the baserunning blunder and picks up Smith's utterly horrendous brain cramp!

In the post game interview Mookie said I tried to turn on the jets and I don't have the jets anymore... he said the quiet part out loud.

Anyone else think Barnes should start? He is a better defensive catcher and is hitting slightly better than Smith lately.

Smith is 5th in dWAR for catchers.

1) Daulton Varsho (Ari) - 0.6
2) J.T. Realmuto (Phi) - 0.6
2) James McCann (Mets) - 0.6

4) Austin Hedges (Cle) - 0.5
5) Will Smith (LAD) - 0.5
6) Roberto Perez (Pit) - 0.5

Keep Barnes in a smaller sample size of AB's. Let's not get crazy here. If he's hitting well getting limited AB's, let's just be happy with that, please.

As for Mookie, this is an extremely cautionary tale about giving Trea Turner $300+MM. Speed is a far more important component to Trea's game, also. I'm pretty confident this will be his last year with us.

Yup. Found the interview. He said "I tried to turn on the jets but I soon realized I don't have the jets anymore.."

He says it right at the beginning of the interview.

- Our ace shutting down the opponent again.

- Betts now is up to an .895 ops. Reminds me of 2020 where he started off slow then boom, MVP leader.

- If we win today, we'll be 4-3 vs. the Phillies this year. We started off 0-3 and was almost swept 4-0. Amazing turnaround. We haven't lost since.

We don't expect anything less from our ace.

........

Man, can't believe Eflin has 10 Ks in 5ip. Damn.

Get this, this is only the 2nd time in his career he's gone over 10 Ks.

........

St Louis up 18-0 on the Pirates. They played 40 games before today with a run differential of +31.

They're about to add 60% of that in one game: +18

Yeah that is super impressive. Looks like it's going to be homeruns or strike out day for us today.
