Trea with another highlight slide. This time in fielding. Nice DP to boot. |

Muncy is just frustrating to watch lately. Hopefully he picks it up like JT did. |

I think it's the injury. Tearing his UCL and not having surgery, I don't think it's fully healed. We might be looking at a Bellinger situation right now with Muncy.
I think Seager tried to play on the same injury and it didn't work so he ended up getting Tommy John surgery. |

Gonsolin with another great QS. He’s been a pleasant surprise. |

He should just get the surgery and come back strong for next season. |

Yeah, I think it's going to end up a lost season for Muncy. He was already recovering slowly during the playoffs and off season:
Quote: | Originally described as a dislocated left elbow, Muncy called the injury a “torn UCL” in an interview with Alanna Rizzo on MLB Network’s High Heat on Monday. The Dodgers have not confirmed that diagnosis.
“It’s a little slow. I’m not recovering as quick as I would like,” Muncy said. “But that’s what happens when you do some serious damage to your body.”
........
UCL tears that do not require surgery can take anywhere from several weeks to several months to heal, according to Johns Hopkins, indicating Muncy is already on the longer end of that spectrum.
“Torn UCL is a slow process,” said Muncy. “But we’re coming back, everything’s going according to plan, and thankfully, it is the offseason, so we can come back from that.” |
Harper just got a partial UCL tear and got a platelet rich plasma injection. Let's see how Harper fares. Maybe Muncy should have at least got a platelet rich injection as well?
Quote: | Bryce Harper did not start for the Philadelphia Phillies in Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres, and the reigning National League MVP could miss at least one more game as he recovers from a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right elbow.
Harper had the injection Sunday because of a small tear in the ulnar collateral ligament of his right elbow that forced the slugging right fielder to play only as Philadelphia's designated hitter. |

Looks like we won't be scoring any more. Our bullpen's just going to have to make this 2-1 lead stand.
Bruihl in. He's been shaky.
Unbelievable. 0-2 and hits the same dude for the 2nd straight game. |

Ugh Barnes. I just said he was a good defensive catcher. It wasn't even a wild pitch and he couldn't handle it. |

Bruihl is just unreliable right now. We need to be bringing him in early, not late.
0-2 to two hitters this inning and lost both of them to a hbp and then a bb.
This is when we really miss Treinen |

I think Bruihl being wild had something to do with that. I bet he was setting up low and the pitch came in high.
Not excusing the pass ball, but I'm imagining Bruihl had something to do with it. |

Holy smokes! Man, Almonte has been a find for us.
Game saving double play.
Ok, no more Bruihl please. |

Bruihl isn't going to be on the team much longer. He helped us last year, but yeah, this is a guy throwing 87-88 and hitting people because he can't locate a slider. |

Yeah Almonte came through.
We need some some insurance runs. Muncy is due. Come on Max. |

Rios needs to be playing over Muncy, I'm sorry. Let him get a PRP injection (if he hasn't gotten one yet) and sit him down for a few weeks. Rios is hot. Just go with it for a few weeks against all righties. I don't want to watch this anymore, it's like a nightmare! |

Looks like no Kimbrel today, so Almonte is going to try to nail it down against 2-3-4 in the order. |

6-14 in Manfred innings. Let’s see if we can change that. |

I didn't like walking Schwarber there. He's not so good that you just go with the righty-righty matchup there imo. Segura is a better hitter than Schwarber is. This isn't about who is more likely to hit a walk-off homer, it's about who was more likely to make an out with 2 outs. |

Also, why put the winning run on base? |

Muncy cannot be playing. This is a disaster. Bases loaded and takes two fastballs right down the middle to get down 0-2 in the count immediately. Then swings right through a center-cut fastball at 2-2. All you have to do is just attack him with strikes. He can't hit. |

Yep. He needs to either get surgery or do a recovery IL stint like you mentioned. He’s a black hole in the lineup. |
