If the Dodgers are just going to try to limp and rest their way to the Playoff's, I hope they can turn that switch back on, cause this is just plain sad.
I mean why should I bother to watch any of these games?
Wake me, for the playoffs, I guess... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

I wonder if he has some underlying elbow issues; I think I read that the Mariners would get an $8MM option year tacked on if he suffers a UCL injury that requires more than 130 days on the IL. But maybe that's just a coincidence, who knows. Otherwise, I agree, it seems to be well below-market value.
In other news, Freeman has been scratched from the lineup tonight with an "illness." |

Mets lost today. If we won last night's game then Kershaw would have been pitching today to clinch the best record in NL. Would have been nice if that had happened. But we still got to see the 700 so it was worth the loss. |

The great thing is deGrom got rocked. That means Mets aren't getting the same deGrom.
He's a bit rusty from being out so long. Not much time left for him to get right. This version of deGrom in the playoffs is not a sure thing. He might not even be their no. 1 right now so him starting game 1 might not be the best thing for them. |

The plan for Yency Almonte is for him to pitch an inning in OKC on Sunday and if things go well he could be activated on Wednesday. |

Nice. Also with Scherzer being out for sometime this season, he might not be the same also. Mets are in trouble if those 2 don't come through.

Good news. We need pitching. Getting tired of seeing Bickford getting rocked. |

Yeah true. But I trust these two more than Bickford. LOL.
Man we need Gonsolin and Treinen back asap. |

Yeah, I doubt it's serious. But it's just bad timing. Dave Roberts said May's been struggling but he still has time (2 starts?) to find his groove. Now being on the IL, I don't think he gets another start until the playoffs. So, now what do we do with him?
We have a 6 man rotation with 10 games left. |

Kahnle is looking more and more filthy each game. Man our bullpen is stacked.
Phillips
Kahnle
Martin
Graterol
Treinen (hoping he comes back for post season)
If Urias, Kershaw, and Anderson can give us solid 5-6 innings in the playoffs then we are unstoppable. Gotta mix in May and Heaney in there for couple of innings here and there of course. Can't wait til October.
Edit: Forgot about Gonsolin. Not sure what role he'll be in.

Anderson is pretty clearly going to be the Game 3 starter now, and I think it's looking like Game 4 would be a mash-up of Heaney, May, and Gonsolin. |

And maybe Almonte gives us something from the right side, as well. He's tracking towards an activation on Wednesday, I think. |

Here's our remaining schedule:
Quote: | Sun, 9/25 - Grove
Mon, 9/26 - day off
Tue, 9/27 - Anderson
Wed, 9/28 - May
Thu, 9/29 - Urias
Fri, 9/30 - Heaney
Sat, 10/1 - Kershaw
Sun, 10/2 - Anderson
Mon, 10/3 - May
Tue, 10/4 - Urias
Wed, 10/5 - Heaney? |
So:
Anderson - 2 starts
Urias - 2 starts
Heaney - 2 starts
May - 2 starts (but on IL now)
Kershaw - 1 start
Gonsolin - hopefully he can get a start in somewhere. |

Forgot about Almonte. As far as pitching goes, we are set. I just hope our offense keeps on doing what they were doing during the season. Especially Trea. I hope last year's playoff Trea doesn't show up this year. Since he is a free agent next year, I expect him to be at this best this post season. |

Bummer about May. It would have been nice to have him start a couple of games before the post season. Maybe it's a good thing. What if he started couple of more and got lit up and just totally killed any confidence he had. He did pitch pretty well on his first game back. Since he won't be starting in a post season game, it can work out. Maybe. |
