as a player he handicapped the Lakers for years on end with his toxic contract after a overrated season where he just went on a red hot shooting streak for about a month. Overall he was a below average athlete, shooter, defender, rebounder. His one claim to fame was high basketball IQ which rarely materialized on the court but because he was teachers pet to PJ he got so many undeserved minutes. His biggest contribution to the Lakers was going to Phil and telling him that Ariza deserved more minutes than him.
As a coach he was way too hands off and nonchalant for a young team. He did not try to push our young core to greatness which I think is a big reason why they all had a disappointing tenure here. |
He was so much more repugnant as a coach that it made me long for the daze when he was just a player. I remember Clarkson sitting behind him looking like he was gonna vomit after Luke's late rotations cost us umpteenth chance at a squeaker W "at" LAC. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

He helped the Warriors on autopilot mode. But he got the job. Mike Brown did just as good if not better with the Warriors while Kerr was out, but hasn't gotten any coaching opportunities. Luke got 2. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Difference was Luke had no chances prior so those were his 2 shots. Mike Brown has blown plenty of opportunities being a HC. |

Also, Brown needs to stop bringing his DVD's to interviews.. It's a digital world now.
At the end of the day both are clearly not Head Coach material imo.. Mike Brown especially can be a very solid assistant though. |
