A Showtime throwback! Mike Smrek is fondly (?) remembered by a generation of Lakers fans for his contributions (?) to two title teams with the Showtime gang. Actually, I'm sure somewhere in the vault, NPZ has a game where Smrek went for like 15 and 12 in a 20-point win over the Kings or something.
Anyway, his daughter, Anna, is a 6-foot-9 spiking monster for the University of Wisconsin volleyball team. Just watched her dominate against unbeaten Louisville in the national semifinals. She's a beast at the net and, frankly, much more effective than her father ever was. National finals in a couple of days if you want to check her out there. She's joined by a 6-foot-8 gal for the Badgers, though that girl, unfortunately, is not the offspring of Chuck Nevitt. |

I think it's gotta be the 88 vs Bullets gm where Magic hit the halfcourt trey. Maybe not 12 boards, but 7-8 was excellent from Mike. I know that'd be sthg I'd include (end bench guys' biggest gms relative to theirskills/mins, Billy T, Branch, McNamara, Wes Sr, etc). I still look for the gm where X choked Wes.
Wonder if she has hoops skills as some of the tall vball girls do (to make more money). _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL
