Sad that a scrub like Fisher is easily considered better than a player getting paid 44 million.

No one considers Fisher the better player I'd hope.

He just had the most success. He wasn't the better player though. He was on the best teams and deserves credit for the big moments he gave us. But from a "better player" standpoint, he's nowhere near as good as Westbrook is.

Team dynamics and time is different than it was then though. Westbrook would thrive as a guard in a league that didn't care as much about the three pointer. He thrived in a league that cared about it. If I had to pick a "better player" between a prime Westbrook and Derek Fisher from 99-2004.. with the addition of having Phil Jackson as our coach.. I'd probably pick Westbrook the majority of the time. That said, Fisher fit precisely what we needed at his position.

Because we had Kobe and Shaq. If you added a prime Westbrook to that... it'd just be another weapon that Phil would likely learn to maximize.

Fisher knew his role. He hit clutch threes at crucial moments. He was physical. He was perfect for that era of ball. If we had Westbrook I have little doubt kobe would prob win 6-7 rings. I think Fish would’ve been nice off the bench for a squad like that too

It's actually closer than I though it was at first glance.
