The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2022, broken down by committee:

North American Committee
Hugh Evans
Manu Ginobili
Tim Hardaway
Bob Huggins
George Karl

Women's Committee
Swin Cash
Marianne Stanley
Lindsay Whalen

Veterans Direct Elect Committee
Lou Hudson

Direct Elect Contributor Committee
Larry Costello
Del Harris

Women's Veterans Direct Elect Committee
Theresa Shank-Grentz

International Direct Elect Committee
Radivoj Korac

Not a "loaded" class....led by Manu Ginobili, Tim Hardaway, and Swin Cash. Personally, I was relieved that WVU Head Coach Bob Huggins finally got the nod.....and few years late IMO. He is currently 3rd among active D1 coaches in wins only behind Coach K and Jim Boeheim. Coach K will be finished after this weekend which will place him only behind Boeheim who is 9 years older than Huggins. HOF coaches that Huggins had passed in recent years in total wins include Jim Calhoun, Roy Williams, Bob Knight, Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp. Huggins missing piece on the resume has been a National Championship, but in his defense he has never coached a "blue blood" program, yet has taken two programs to the Final Four, been to the Elite 8 four times, and the Sweet 16 nine times.....while racking up 916 career wins and is a 2x National Coach of the Year winner.

Also, was I the only one surprised to see Del Harris get the nod?

That is a weak class.

Manu will make it.

Hardaway and Hudson are borderline guys, but the borderline has moved south pretty significantly in the past few years, so both have a decent shot at getting in.

They are as deserving as recent inductees Bob Dandridge, Sidney Moncrief, and Paul Westphal.

Ginobili in for sure. What a player on both the international and NBA level.

Much props to Manu, very much a Hall of Famer in my mind.

I'm not really surprised by anyone anymore because it seems to have become more and more about people in the Hall getting their buddies in. Is Del really worthy of eternal remembrance as an important part of basketball history? No, but he was around a long time and made a lot of friends. The Hall's become a joke.
