Pitiful. The players are running the show while the front office hides under its desks

Players have to PLAY. We all understand injuries. But “oh, I’ve gotta shut it down for a week or a month or whatever”….part-time players don’t win chips

Next season will be about PRIDE. Or not

What’s worse is Dippers with out pg and kwahi are better than us. Spurs with g-league team are better than us.

Hate to say it but Lakers are the anti-Clippers at this point. Top heavy, no depth, no defense, no shooting, no young talent, no draft picks and most importantly, no future. Incredible how the two teams swapped positions in the last decade, mainly due to the Clippers having competent management. They even stole Zu from us . They won more games than the Lakers without their two superstars. Now that PG13 and Norman are back, I expect them to shock a lot of teams and maybe come out of the west if Kawhi returns.

I still think the bubble title/corona cup is similar to the 1950's titles where the finals were played in empty gyms.

It started with the half-assed effort in pre-season. No Laker cared from the very beginning. Then Lebron made that remark about pacing himself, suggesting that he and AD should take it easy and turn it up later in the season. This resonated throughout the entire team. And then AD started up with his annual injuries. Meanwhile, RW and all the Laker rift-raff crew (starring Ariza, Bazemore, et al) started "playing" like they had more desire to get paid than to win.

Bad attitude, bad start, no urgency, no drive. No 3rd man stepping up like we had the last two seasons. Just an entire (bleep) show from day one.

Just remember, this team, with 4 hall of famers (maybe 5), albeit old and crusty, are worse then the 04-05 team.

A team comprised of Chucky Atkins, Tierre Brown, Brian Cook, Jumaine Jones, Slava, Hamblen…you get the picture.

That team in the then wild Wild West won 34 games.

Yet we couldn’t even get to my initially predicted 42-40. I gave these gutless a**holes too much credit. And I’m ashamed for it. I’ve now worked myself into a shoot.

And the talent disparity between that team and this team is huge.....this team probably underachieved by 20 wins.

How bad are this years Lakers? With the play-in tournament format, 2/3's of all teams have records good enough to qualify. The 2021-2022 Lakers were part of the 1/3 of the teams that had a record that didn't even qualify for this format which had lower standards than previous seasons.

And 69 overall.

A well-oiled machine.

Wilt played 82 games and 42 minutes per game (at 35 years old).
Gail Goodrich played 82 games.
Happy Hairston played 80 games.
Jim McMillan played 80 games.
Jerry West played 77 games.

agree. If the clutch players were healthy and not old then maybe you give them a voice.

This Clutch bashing is so funny. what in the world is Rob doing? Rob had the leverage to get a pick from Wizards.( Brick asked for that trade as well) Instead he gave them one. Offered 84 millions to DS. He threw in a pick along with Danny green to get DS.

FO didn't listen to all Lebron's demands. Vogel is not his choice. Melo cold have been in P&G years back. when things go wrong, Its all Clutch

Exactly, asset management has been atrocious.

It was an abomination. Given the weirdness of the roster and lack of continuity, they had to bring a sense of urgency from Day 1 to have any chance to make this work and build anything resembling chemistry. Instead they took the opposite approach - treating the preseason like trash, coasting, showing hubris. LeBron and AD's mindset coming in set a horrible tone to what was already probably going to be an unworkable situation given the roster/Westbrook's terrible fit and attitude, and only compounded the toxicity and chaos. Bunch of old veterans that thought they could rely on past accomplishments and flip the switch solidified that mentality.

This season, from opening night against the Warriors in October up through the games against the Pelicans and Nuggets in early April that were the death knell, was like watching one of four movies over and over again:

1. Lakers tread water and keep it close, only to fade and be out-executed in crunch time due to horrible defense and pathetic, predictable offensive schemes (e.g., first three games against the Clippers, last game at home against NOLA);

2. Lakers get completely demolished from the jump and show zero interest or effort (e.g., games like the ones in late December at home against the Spurs, Phoenix);

3. Lakers are getting completely demolished, then mount one of their infamous "fake" comebacks only to tease and disappoint, finding new ways to lose and torment their fans (so many to even specifically recall and recount);

4. Lakers get a big lead and then blow it completely, caving and having zero answers once the opponent sensed that they had momentum (e.g., OKC twice early season, game at NO when they blew a 20 point halftime lead).

Rinse and repeat.

Even the 04-05 Lakers had a better record.
