Are people really this desperate to crap on the Franchise they supposedly root for? There's plenty of legit things to discuss and complain about, no reason to use blatantly click bait esque trash like this. Guess what would happen with any other Franchise asking for an interview..... The exact same answers since Howard is clearly not leaving right now. Lakers are just doing there due diligence to check all options.

The answer to this is "yes". Isn't that what the internet's for?

"The collegiate coach landscape now rivals and or equals the NBA job because you don't have to leave college to get top dollar anymore," Rose said. "And then the other thing about a college job, you can have it five years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years. Whoever gets this next Lakers' job probably won't have it in two or three years, even if they do a good job, because the current job is to win right now with LeBron and AD. When this roster turns over and becomes a new iteration, that may call for a new coach.

"So, I am happy that he isn't interviewing for the job. I'm not surprised he isn't interviewing for the job."

Rebuild or not, the Laker HC position is only a 2 year lease agreement. In the past 45 years (since Jerry West was head coach), the LA Lakers have only had three head coaches last more than 3 seasons-- Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, and Dandy Dell Harris.

The players run the league. As a consequence the coaches are easy disposable whenever there are problems within the team. No surprise its not good for job security and why some would rather coach in college.
