How on earth was his defense trash in this series? He did an excellent job executing the scheme as a chaser. He might have been our best defender on Klay.
Playoffs are about matchups. We all know this, but it's easy to forget it in the heat of the games. By all accounts, Lonnie is a really good guy and has a really good attitude. I would be happy to see him succeed. However, he has a long track record as a poor defender. It will take more than a handful of playoff games with a particular matchup to shake that reputation.
Remember that Hachimura was the toast of Laker Nation in the Memphis series. He played okay against the Warriors, but the matchups were not as favorable. We'll see if Lonnie has an impact against the Nuggets.
I'm only arguing against the notion that he was a poor defender during this specific series. I acknowledge that he was poor defensively during the regular season (which is partially why he fell out of the rotation in the first place) but his athleticism made him a real asset as a chaser against the Warriors. I don't see how anyone can come away from this series thinking that Lonnie performed poorly on either side of the floor.

Beal was an all-star two years ago when he averaged 30 ppg.
I think he's overpaid, and I can question the wisdom of the Sun getting him (though it seems like a good deal for what they paid.)
My main point is that Walker isn't close to being an equivalent player, so it doesn't make sense to make this a Walker vs. Beal question. As I noted, Walker couldn't start for the Sun, and he might not be able to make their rotation.

This is the best chance they have to win it all since the Nash era - have to go all in. What do picks even mean if you want a ring so so bad. They will literally ruin the next decade gladly if it means they get a ring. Have to capitalize on whatever KD has left. This is how some franchises think. Also cp3 was washed. Huge upgrade with Beal.

That pure offense was Nuggs biggest test with barely any games played together. They need marginal players at best and like every other team health. If they are somewhat healthy for postseason it’s them and the Nuggs. _________________ Kobe.

Except in the playoffs where they both outplayed him and out defended him to send him home. He’s not better than Denis especially not in fourth quarters or as a fill in starter if Russell, Reaves, or Bron miss games
