I would have put this in the Dodgers thread but thought it should stand alone.
I remember Maury well. His hips were shredded from sliding into second base. Sometimes he would put out a hand to touch the base, when the second baseman went to tag his hand he'd pull it back and hit the base with his other hand. RIP

Didn't know much of him so I looked his numbers.
Holy cow, he had a season with 104 steals and only got caught 13 times. 89% success rate on that sort of volume is nuts.

Dang and to think I'm a Dodgers fans (though not nearly as knowledgeable as some of y'all) and never really heard of him. From that era, I just know the usual names, Snider, Hodges, Sandy and Drysdale.
