22 games in for the Lakers.
Had a horrible start to the season but only 5 games out of first since no one is running away with the conference.

Gotta beat teams you're supposed to, and try to split against the true contenders.

Bad game from Curry and no Wiggins tonight... They already crawled out of a 2-8 start. They will be fine.

The pace that teams play at these days is something to behold. Makes 90s/early 00s basketball seem as ugly and boring as it really was.

There's also never been this much talent in the NBA at once in who knows how many decades.

Klay is starting to find some form too. I expect them to be in the western conference final if they are healthy.

Yeah it's pretty much pace and 3 pt shooting, then sprinkle in higher shooting talent (highest FT% ever).
Kareem's 1st year in the league vs LeBron's first year vs now

1969-70 - 99.4 FGA per game/ 3pt attempts - 0
2003-04 - 79.8 FGA per game/ 3pt attempts - 14.9
2022-23 - 88.2 FGA per game/ 3pt attempts - 34.1

Based on the last several years, this year is starting off a little hot.

Makes you think if Nunn's recovery is slow like Klay

All I got to say is that it would be crazy if the 2023 title for #18 is between the Lakers and the Celtics. I actually think we can take them down especially since I have always said I do not trust Tatum in the highest leverage situations (which I was proven correct by the way) and I do not think even now he has the mental toughness to outplay Lebron with Bron on him. Its similar to what I felt about Kobe vs Lebron in 2009. I had zero doubts the Lakers would beat the Cavs in 2009 despite their 66-16 record had they gone past the Magic because I knew when it came down to it, Kobe would have made more winning plays than that young Bron and frankly our team was better than theirs. A pitbull like Pat Bev who hopefully has found his shooting stroke might be critical in a matchup with Jaylen Brown

Robert Williams is close to returning and the C's defense has been picking up even without him. Hopefully he is there for the Lakers matchup. See how we stack up with the Celtics at their best. Want to see what AD does to Robert Williams and Al Horford. This game though I expect Tatum to go off especially in a regular season game with probably Troy Brown on him.

2 of them are 34 years old. KD and Curry are posting their most efficient seasons. Some would say the league is more talented than it's ever been. I would say offensive players have too much sway and are taking advantage of the modern rules. The reality is that it's a mixture of both. Players tend to get away with blatant carries and travels, and the league is finally starting to take notice. Celtics aren't beating people with their defense this season. They are just bulldozing opponents offensively. I'd like to see that change. I'd love to see them bring back some of the older rules to give defensive players an advantage. There is a stark contrast between how defensive and offensive players are officiated.

Crazy how Reggie just said 4.2 seconds was plenty of time to go coast to coast yet with 12 seconds left, he was saying Denver should intentionally miss because they didn’t have a timeout.

Really hard to catch up when the teams above us keep winning, it’s either gonna be the Lakers go on a amazing run to make the play in or hopefully a trade that will give us the team a huge boost for the 2nd half run, we can’t just rely on AD dropping 40 point games for us to get wins, LeBron can’t be counted on like before, a lot of players specifically Jones/JTA/Bev/Nunn haven’t provided anything, it’s gonna be a wild next couple of months as teams jock for positioning.

We’re like 2-3 games behind home court, doable

we arent competing for a ring. we are competing to stay close to Pelicans in the draft.

You mean in 3 years? He’s locked in this season and next and has a $48M PO for 24/25 that is looking like a solid bet for him to pick up.
