Added Patrick Beverly to my fantasy team for tonight in anticipation of a big revenge game. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
One could argue that it's about giving your body time to rest.
Playing is fine as long as your body isnt in a fatigued state which I thought the science was showing could lead to more injuries?
What exactly is a “fatigued state” ?
These are professional athletes whose entire life has been the chase towards “peak fitness” for their sport and careers. They work out / train daily unless they are rehabbing. They workout and participate in their sports even in the off-season. Perhaps indulging in a few days off as a vacation before starting up again.
Their bodies are one long grind of training until they retire.
They may use every imaginable resource to extend or train scientifically but in the end wear and tear, injuries and fatigue builds up. Especially during the season. Injuries occur. Fact of sports at every level from Peewee to senior citizens. Professional players are at the very razors edge of fitness to compete.
Players need to play. Manage any minor injuries or excessive fatigue as best they can but trying to avoid injuries by avoiding playing time is foolhardy.
JMO, mostly opinion based on life experience as a semi competitive athlete, aging, and a moderate amount of science thrown into the mix.

I thought body/muscle recovery was the main reason the NBA is trying to schedule less back to back games. In the past 2 decades, there's been some numbers coming out about the importance of rest such as https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6107769/ and the like. I just chose one random one, but there out there if you're really interested.
One thing I believe is that each body is different. And going with load management doesn't guarantee prevention of injuries. But I have no problem with people evaluating the stats and coming up with ways to keep players healthy for the playoffs.
You can hold onto your opinion based on that life of being a semi competitive athlete. Whatever way best gets people through the year healthy. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
I'm guessing the highlighted people are the starters? This is an interesting post I've never seen anything like this before.
Is Paul George hurt? Why is he not starting?
Yeah I don't know the only clipper mentioned on the injury report at all was Reggie Jackson with a groin and he is still listed as probable so. ???? Not sure what exactly this is Jovan posted or what it entirely means lol
EDIT - OH. Do he and Kawai play the same position? Maybe? I don't know from clippers world… Yeah why Marcus Morris Senior, then? So weird...

Reggie Jackson, Paul George, Norman Powell, Marcus Morris and Ivica Zubac will start for the Clippers.
Ty Lue said Kawhi Leonard will come off the bench in part to ensure he’s available to close the game, while still limiting his minutes. Said it’s the way Kawhi “felt the best.”
