He is who he is. The guy who had him in there cost us the game.

Politics...?

What are the politics here? Why are we catering to this guy? He hasn’t done anything to earn crunch time minutes. He can’t be trusted in a close game. Why is he out there? What the (bleep) are we doing?

No clue, man. Pelinka got his damn extension, so it's not like he's going to pay for admitting he fvcked up.

They need to rip the band-aid off.

It’s one thing to keep starting him. I don’t agree with it, but whatever. Playing him in crunch time is a federal crime. Stop it now and stop it forever.

From your keyboard to Ham's inbox.

We don't need to end games with three guard lineups.

You PICK TWO OF THE FOUR when it comes to Beverley, Westbrook, Walker, Nunn.

You don't play 3 of them together you don't play 4 of them together. You pick 2 and roll with that.

No Russ in the last 5-6 minutes of games because they will just not guard him and pack the paint. That’s when you get lebron jumpers or AD long range shots

I don't see how we pin this loss on Russ, honestly.

4:42 left in the game, Russ comes in with the Lakers up 8. Here are the shots from that point on.

Lillard made layup
LeBron missed 3
Grant missed midrange
Russ missed 3
Lillard made 3
Davis made dunk (Russ assist)
Grant missed 3
LeBron made layup

- 1:56, Lakers up 7.

Lillard made two FT (Davis foul)
Beverly missed 3
Nurkic made putback
LeBon missed 3
Simons made layup
Russ missed midrange
Lillard made 3

- 12.4, Lakers down 2

LeBron made dunk
Grant made layup
LeBron missed midrange

Dame scores 10 in the last four minutes while setting up his teammates for good looks. The Lakers take half their shots from three (missing them all) and otherwise try to let the air out of the ball leading to poor looks with a short clock. Russ did take a questionable shot going for a 2-for-1, but otherwise wasn't as the center of the collapse.

**Edit - though I totally agree Russ shouldn't be playing in crunch time. Hurts your spacing and is prone to hero ball errors.

Bro Lillard makes a living off of those shots. He nearly solo'd a solid Nuggets team 2 seasons ago in the playoffs.

Lilliard got lucky. Made so many lucky shots

That's just silly sauce

That's not luck, that's SKILL.

A lot was luck. Got some easy shots. Portland got lucky

It really wasn't. But if that's what you need to believe then do you fam

Russell Westbrook said that he was looking for a 2-for-1 opportunity when he attempted the midrange shot with 27.3 seconds remaining, and about 18 seconds on the shot clock, and missed it.

By the way, I hate to blame the refs, but Nurkic definitely committed an offense foul there because he extended both of his arms, it didn’t matter if he was in the legal screening position or not

Pitiful answer.

If Russ is ever the answer to a defensive or we needed shooters in question then the person answering is insane.

I didn’t see the game but it seems like every loss we blame on Westbrook.
Is that fair?
Was he the reason we lost today?
Give me the scoop.
Seems like Beverley and all the other players other than Walker, Davis and Lebron, didn’t show up at all.

Pelinka needs to do some reconfiguring or it’s going to be a long horrible season. Already 0-3.

Time to extend Rob Russ and Bron

Who with a Fking sense of mind puts these many guards on the roster. Bron is here for the stats. He knows this team is garbage. No way to win a title. He will go for scoring. Owners doesnt want to take back any salary. So, no trades to even make.

Sit Brick for heavens sake. You cant up his trade value. No one is trading for Russ because of his skills. They get him for salary. No need to appease to his EGO.

Pelinka sucks. Until he is gone, lakers will suck

I agree with everything except for Lebron.

Lebron wants to win here as a Laker Again. Sure he’s gunning for Kareem but he’s also gunning for Jordan still. An 5 chips is much better than 4 obviously.

I’m starting to believe he was too gassed in the end to keep punishing JHart and JGrant. It is year 20.

Spot on about Russ. An I never really shhhhittted on Rob before on LG but SPOT ON FOR ROB AS WELL.

Darvin doesn’t get a pass!

Pretty easy to explain in detail when everyone knows that it was a ill advised shot and a idiotic shot.

Beverley really needs to dig into LeBron's backside about his constant effort or lack there of on defense.

Lebron hasn't played defense since 2016 but they won regardless because of all the 3&D players they had on the roster back in 2020. Highly doubt Bev or anyone else is going to get Lebron to exert constant effort on defense at age 38.

With that said I can't even blame any of the players or Ham. Most of the blame should go to the ones who assembled this roster.

Pat Bev should have been on Dame instead of Lonnie. smh

Great players like Dame make shots in this league.

If Lakers had just 1-2 shooters on the roster they would easily be 2-1 at this point.

The Blazers put Nurk on Russ and had him sit in the paint, essentially neutralizing the flow of the offense. Reaves would have at least been guarded out there. They were getting good looks before Ham ushered him back in.

People are harping on Russ because of this one extremely ill advised shot he took at a critical juncture of the game. That said I wouldn't put it all on Russ because it was just a series of missed opportunities that took place in like the last two minutes of the game that was just berserker. So bad on the end of game execution.

I was trying to think… I don't remember him being particularly bad when I went to the game the other day. I mean he certainly wasn't particularly good either... I kind of don't remember him. Which I guess says it all.

I want Russ gone but please stop mentioning Buddy Heild like he is the savior.

I watched his highlights versus the Wizards and the only thing missing was Benny Hill’s circus music in the background.

An Myles Turner really got injured by tripping on a ball boy during warmups?????
