I think I ranked Rui 2nd in his draft

6"8 wings with his isolation skills and shooting are rare. Wait till you guys see his kobe fadeaways. He is like a Kawhi Clone. And rhe numbers are not bad 14ppg on 48% and 40% 3pt.

Hopefully this is the right situation

kawhi clone without the ball handling and defense

Also do the Wizards have a HORRIBLE development staff or what? What the
Heck were they doing with him?

This kid can freaking play. He’s huge, mobile, smooth jumper, and he hustles on D.

Rui is showing he was worth at least 1 first round pick, if not more.

He did well guarding Johnson, most of his shots looked short when Rui guarded him.

Rui has skills. He's not as bad a defensive player as some have said. Not great, but around an average defender, imo. Definitely nice to see a player on the floor that can get his own offense, without depending on LeBron. And, forcefully, too. Lonnie and Reaves can create for themselves, to a certain extent. But, Lonnie's engagement waxes and wanes. And, Reaves mentality is more about being a facilitator, as opposed to looking to score.

Rui's size and scoring is going to be excellent for us. Especially once he settles in, and the Lakers figure it all out when we get healthy.

Yo Rui got me so freaking hyped. A kid that this front office will finally lock up long term, and get better as time goes on. A freaking wing player man.

You love to see it.

He’s big! He looked more like 6’9-6’10 out there.

So this is what a wing looks like...

lol I love Rui as much an anybody, but lets not go overboard. If he keeps improving, Rui may turn into a player that's worth more than Nunn/3 srp's, in the future. But, as of now, it was a fair price, considering the circumstances.

When you are 6’8 with a big body and athleticism, you can get away with a lot of stuff on defense. It is just that much harder to score on this type of guys

I mean, the "bad defender" takes aren't substantiated statistically. The stats have him as a neutral defender. I saw him get lost a few times on team defense, but nothing too major. His size alone allows him to rebound and not get outmuscled. That alone is enough to buoy his defensive impact.

I know right? An actual wing player! That can create shots, hustle on D, guard other wing players with effort at the very least…

It feels like forever since we’ve seen that. I almost forgot what it felt like after these horrendous 3/4 guard lineups. Now all Rob needs to do is trade Westbrick and Bev away for Oubre and we’ll be set.

Having an extra forward with his size and skill can only be a good thing, and he showed why tonight

Need to see a lot of the Bron/Rui/AD frontcourt

And more to come as long as the team doesn’t throw away another first round pick this year. Regardless of where the pick is.

Let the damn scouting department this organization has do it’s job!

Not sure if their still trying to ease him in but he need more minutes.

21 minutes is too low for him. He need at least 30-32mpg.

I didn't watch the game tonight but I didn't need to. I will say this: he can play. He's has a sweet midrange jumper, and he's got what we need most right now: size.

Funny fact: both players traded for each other, Rui/Nunn, scored the exact same amount of points in their debuts. 12

True. I will admit, I’m eating major crow right now. I freaking hated that pick. And I am happy to look so wrong so far. I’m very impressed with him now.

Rui looked comfortable out there, he almost seamlessly blended within our system tonight. His smooth transition bodes well for the Lakers.
