Skipping the All Star game would be amazing.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves on terms of the real show.
We are only 4 games below .500

We ain’t finished quite yet

The ratings can’t dip much lower than they typically are. 5 million instead of 6 million? Even the NFL’s flag football ratings have been much larger.

IMO he should have chosen not to play in the ASG even before this ref fiasco.

Lakers are trying to earn a play- in spot. Neither James or Davis should be wasting their energy on an exhibition game. Which has now become even more difficult by the league’s lack of accountability for the refs.

Stay home, rest, get treatment, prepare for the final stretch to earn a spot.

Imagine Lebron walking out after 5 sec of the game. It would be epic.
Screw NBA. Screw Adam. Screw the refs.

Can you elaborate?

My perspective is that he is more concerned with helping his team be competitive instead of helping the league pump up ratings for a ridiculous exhibition game.

I am not even saying he needs to make any statements of protest against the league. ( that should be coming from the organization today). Just state they need to focus on winning and earning a play-in spot. Be gracious even.

But why participate? He is not going to get any more popularity or increase his contract value. He would show he is concerned about winning for the team paying his salary and the fans that support the Laker jersey.

Mid season exhibition ASG are ridiculous. This season even more so.

Last year was one of maybe three times I've watched the AS game, so I agree that it's pretty silly. However, just because the refs turned last night into a circus doesn't mean LeBron should bring the circus to AS week. What does that really accomplish?

As I stated, the decision to not participate should have been made before. Why waste time and energy on an exhibition game. That is what the off-season is for.

Reaction to last night’s ( and previous instances) just make this seasons razor thin chances of making the play-in even more difficult. Why can’t the Laker players focus more on the Lakers?

The ref circus is secondary IMO.

Does not mean I don’t wish the Lakers would respond to the refs’s weak “oops, sorry we missed it” response. I have payback daydreams. Wonder how the league would react if the players missed the ASG because “oops I missed my plane” or “oops, I missed my wake up alarm”.

Sure all star rating is low, but Lebron sitting out this year will have an impact on it. Not just sitting out, he should not even make the trip because the NBA is planning to honor him for the record, but he should’ve said something like “I would attend if zebras are not blind against my team”
This is just my dream, I understand it won’t happen

He should but he won’t. NBA stars are all about their own brand. He was pissed last night, but I’m sure he’s over it. It’s not like it was a game 7 of the finals which he was perusing his first title.

The agreement with the players association obligates players who are elected to the All-Star game to attend, unless they have approval from the commissioner or a legitimate injury.

If LeBron simply decided not to play, my guess is the league would fine him. I'm not sure how much, because he would probably receive multiple fines for each of the different things like media interviews he didn't show up for.

Let's say in all it came to, oh, $500,000. That's less than what LeBron makes for a single game, so he wouldn't miss the money.

That would only hurt the fans. Sure it might cause the league to make a bit less money but a lot of the fans would lose out on some great entertainment value especially when Lebron is on the cusp of breaking one of the most prestigious records.

There's plenty of other ways to get back at the league and boycotting the ASG would not be one of them IMO.

Don’t care about the “fan experience” for an exhibition game.

Only concerned with James and Davis being healthy for one last push for the play-in. That directly affects my “Laker fan experience “.

There is no winning or puncher’s chance if the Lakers can’t get to the 10th spot. Winning games is (or should be) the reason they play the game. The actual games not the exhibition game.

I'm not sure what your point is. Lebron doesn't have the option of skipping the all-star game because he wants more rest. It's not just about the fines from the league. His sponsors would be furious, and he cares a lot about that. His reputation would take a hit, and he cares a lot about that. Most importantly, you know that he wants to be there picking a team and basking in all the attention. He's earned it. There is no way in hell that he skips the all-star game, whether it is because you think it is better for the team or because other people are mad about the officiating.
