Took the words out of my mouth. Doesn't it seem like sometimes fans are more interested or appreciative of how high a player jumps instead of the elite all around game said player brings?
While that video is awesome, I haven't seen anything on there that Kobe still DOESN'T do. He just doesn't do it as often or just for the sake of doing it. I guess some Laker fans find Kobe's focus on substance over flash boring. At least on the road, fans sure seem to find his game exciting, as he's the #1 draw in the league.

yup, kobe just grew up and got wiser. i dont think any player can or would want to keep up that type of play and hope to preserve the length of their careers. its all about production anyway, kobe is scoring more now than he ever did and he's doing it with less flashy plays, which will likely prevent injury. like LakerJam said, kobe can still do all that stuff, but he just chooses to do it less frequently.
he should have never bulked up on top and cut the fro. It was when he came back that summer all huge with tatoos and a shaved nugget. He really doesn't jump like he used too. I think it's because of that extra muscle he put on, plus he looks less flexible. oh well. he's still the best.
He got eaten up by the Kobe that drops 81 in a game.
Best response today. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam
Same here I miss his fro man! I was so disappointed when he cut it. I was like man wtf is that I loved his fro look. I think it was vs. Portland in 2002? when he cut it but I seriously miss that if he did it for his wife then it's cool but I wish he could grow it back .
He didn't grow up, he just got old. Taking it to the hole is what kobe use to do best.
Now, Kobes game is pretty much a 29 ft fadeaway with a dudes grill up in his face. A very low FG% shot.
He grew up. He can dunk if it's available and he doesn't need to force it. You really think he only shoots 29 ft fadeaways? Man, you need to take the blinders off and watch some games. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam
I miss that Kobe because he was doing spectacular things and we were winning championships. I enjoy watching the current Kobe as well and hope it translates to more rings in the future.
Yeah he was fun, but it was also a very risky Kobe. If he goes out now, we're screwed. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam
I think in the regular season, Kobe is much more cautious, thus the jumpshot-first, perimeter game mentality. He may be doing this to prevent injuries and accidents, for he knows that without him, this team is garbage. I think you'll see more of Kobe taking it to the whole once we're in the playoffs. Hopefully we'll make it. _________________ =======================

He can still fill a HIGHLIGHT REEL, nothing happened to that Kobe other than a little maturity, and recognizing the team's need to have him healthy for as many games as possible.
whats the name of that song, ive heard it before but without the words. _________________ Tracy McGrady, the player closest to matching Kobe in pure individual ability, was 'no picnic to deal with either. You're flat out WRONG! He bulked up during the 2003 season which is when he gained the infamous 15 pounds of muscle, that was the season he had most of his best dunks ever, reverse dunk on sprewell, spinng watchamacall it against denver, he had a ton that year, AND he dropped the nine staright 40+, Oh and if im not mistaken the 12 three's! _________________ "To me he is the best player in the world right now.
