First off, I will never believe that Oden is a freshman in college. My favorites would be Kevin Durant and Brandan Wright (if he puts on some weight, but (bleep) his arms are long!)

Oden is not 18. Prove me wrong.

Sounds like nothing will unless you see the birth certificate, but, I've heard similar things about LeBron James since he was 17.

Amen on Durant. Should be Rashard Lewis O, KG D. As for Brandon Wright, he's already dunking/swatting at the top of the backboard square.

Definitely one of the best HS classes I've ever seen.

It has been clear he was going to be an impact player from day one, but it sounds like he will have a big impact from day one.

Brandan Wright is the guy I'd really love to see in a P&G uniform. Crazy length on those arms.

I love Budinger and Durant.

I doubt Budinger is in the upcoming draft unless he is a guaranteed lottery pick. Even then, it wouldn't surprise me to see him go back to school for a year or two as he is a pretty grounded kid from all appearances.

Durant is just a sheer talent, he reminds me of a young Kevin Garnett, except way more offensively skilled. Sure NBA standout in my opinion.

Budinger would go lottery but I think he should stay at least 2 years.

The way the Lakers are playing, they won't be getting any Lottery picks anytime soon, unless they can work a trade. It may be just as well, because they will have to pay Andrew Bynum along with Kobe, Lamar and Kwame.

I think he will likely do just that Mike.

But this guy is out of his mind, California player of the year as a Sr, very deserving McDonalds All American (and MVP of the game) and then Pac 10 player of the week in his first week as a college player.

Chase Budinger is a very serious basketball player.

I like it when players come out early. The Lakers might never have drafted Bynum and Farmar had they shown their talent for another season.

Oh I know it. Just want to make sure he doesn't have any real major kinks in his game.. just like when Wade and Brandon Roy got into the NBA.

Mbah a Moute from UCLA looks good, but I wonder if he will be there around #25 or so when the Lakers select.

He shouldn't declare. He's not ready. If he did, 2nd rounder, easily.

Ouch! Of course, if there is a chance of falling into the second round, it's probably better to stay in college. I thought he was projected as a mid-first rounder.

^Too early in the season. Too many prospects not listed on draft pages yet.

I like that kid also. You never know how a talent like offensive rebounding will project to the pros with bigger, stronger players....but that guy (Mbah a Moute) is an absolute magnet to the ball. It is uncanny actually, he seems to have a unique talent for rebounding that other guys don't have.

Leading up to the draft, there were people who said Jordan Farmar should stay in school. It is quite possible that he might have two strong ankles through an entire season. He might have gone Lottery in the next draft. On the other hand, the Lakers would probably not have a shot at him if he remained in school for another season. It's also possible he might have gotten injured in college and never benefitted from a NBA contract. There is still plenty of time for stock to rise and fall. If there is a kid at UCLA, the Lakers scouts will get a good look at them.

Farmar actually has the proper PG skills by position since HS.

Mbah a Moute doesn't.

I would take Luc Richard for the Lakers #1 pick right now.

He is/will become some combination of Ron Artest/Denis Rodman without the crazy.

He has only played organized basketball for 4/5 years.

The longer he stays in school the more pipe he becomes for the Lakers.

How about Oden going 8 for 8 from the field the other game?

TJ Augustin had a hell of a game for Texas.

Big Baby Davis is going to be a first round pick. He's no Tractor Traylor. His feet are too active, his hands are too soft, and he has range and aggressiveness.

Think he could play the 4 in the NBA?

^Yes. That'd be his lone position.

If Big Baby loses some weight, he could be solid.

Anyone watching Oden right now?

I mean, I know I said defensive presence, but some of that jazz is just unfair.
