^Yes. They know Bogut isn't exactly a stopper at C. But, he'd be a killer high post PF next to Oden at C to really get that offense clicking.

Bogut may be too slow against elite PFs, but that's why you switch with Oden on PFs and Bogut with the weaker C.

One or both players may stay in and there won't wind up being any drama anyway.

I have to go with Oden- man that guy is just huge and he makes a great impact on the defensive end. He is not a flashy as Durant, but man that guy is a hard worker out there- you could not ask for more of a kid his size and age.

Since his right wrist was injured at the begining of the season, he has taken to shooting his FT's with his LEFT. He even made some too! Now he is back to being able to shoot with his right hand again, but now he is able to finish with both of his huge hands. Damn his arms are long for a 7 footer too- I can't wait to see what his Wingspan measures out to be.

Would folks say that Oden is like Hakeem, and that Durant is like KG?

Oden - Mutombo in David Robinson frame/athleticism.

Durant - Dirk Nowitzki w/Rashard Lewis game and KG-ish athleticism.

Mike, both these guys will be real good, but it seems that Oden still has some ways to go when it comes to developing an offensive game, granted the man is playing with his left hand, but i can still see why you would take him #1, but i cant fault a team for taking durant first.

^Why do you think I said Mutombo?

As for offensive game development, no one needed that more than Bynum and he progressed nicely.

Consider the fact he's scoring 16ppg on limited game, imagine if he had 4 polished post moves.

Mike, one thing i noticed you said was that he has david robinson athleticism, but david was very versitle, it seemed like he could defend well outside the paint, oden has good athleticism, but i dont know about robinson type, atleast not yet.

^Separate athleticism from skill.

Versatility refers to a skill set.

I see your point mike, in the end, oden has some good potential. By the way mike, not to go off topic here, but ive seen tyrus thomas the last 2-3 weeks and every game i see him, i see a bit of shawn marion, good scouting there, and rajon rondo has more of a all around game than i thought, just needs some better offense, but he sure could help the lakers.I can see why you liked these guys.

^I'm beyond picky about players in regards to the draft, how they're scouted, etc.

Thanks for the acknowledgement.

Now if I could've only convinced Kupchak of a capspace plan with draft picks when Shaq got traded in 04...

Having Josh Howard in place of LO wouldn't have made any difference in the team right about now, eh?

I still want Bokolo in the 2nd round.

Players overlooked:

Javaris Crittenton
Morris Almond
Glen Davis
Roy Hibbert

Player depth by position.
Small Forward
Shooting Guard
Power Forward
Center
Point Guard

Mike, i looked at bokolos profile and he seems like barbosa with better D which would help, but i saw the prospect list and i liked Darren Collisons game, his defense is amazing, the lakers could surely use a player like him, what do you think about him, is he even coming out this draft?

^I don't think Collison will declare, nor do I think he should yet.

Unlike Bokolo, he needs to add more strength. He does have purer PG skills than Bokolo, but not the height or that level of vertical ability. Both practically match each other in speed and quickness.

Hey mike, i know you said the lakers should draft the best player available in the draft this year, but in an ideal world, what position do the lakers need this year. They need alot of things, but there has got to be one position they need over another. You know what, lets just trade Kobe, Lamar, Bynum and luke for oden and durant

BTW, I just finished seeing oden play and i must say its incredible how he didnt stand out as much, but then u look at the box score and he had 17 pts, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks, wow, very quiet. He reminds me of duncan in how it seems hes not doing much until you look at the box and he has a double double.

Centers
  1. Greg Oden 7-0 265 C Ohio St. Fr.
Comments: Once a decade center talent. Work ethic makes him the dominant NBA C after Yao.
  2. Hasheem Thabeet 7-3 265 C UConn Fr.
Comments: Has rare size/strength/ath. combination. Still learning what his body is capable of.
  3. Spencer Hawes 6-11 250 C Wash. Fr.
Comments: Has better post skills than any freshman in the past 20 years. Stiff legs.
  4. Roy Hibbert 7-2 272 C Georgetown Jr.
Comments: Mobility seems to improve each year. Lacks huge upside but could be solid.
  5. Aaron Gray 7-1 280 C Pittsburgh Sr.
Comments: Hard worker who maximizes his abilities. Overall game has become well rounded.
  6. Brook Lopez 7-0 250 C Stanford Fr.
Comments: Slower than his twin Robin, but better strength and touch/polish. Not ready.
  7. Robin Lopez 7-0 240 PF/C Stanford Fr.
Comments: The faster and more athletic twin, but lacks Brook's offensive game.
  8. Ante Tomic 7-1 237 PF/C Croatia 1987
Comments: Still very skinny. Likely to enter, may pull out if he doesn't get a promise.
  9. Kyle Visser 6-11 250 C Wake Forest Sr.
Comments: Break out senior season. Good mobility and offensive skills. First round is possible.
  10. Marc Gasol 7-0 270 C Spain 1985
Comments: Lacks quickness but Pau's little brother could find a spot in the end of the first round.

Bokolo would go against everything that LA usually targets.

I'd love to take a chance on him, just doesn't seem likely, no?

Watched Oden-watching Durant. Wow.

Oden will anchor the paint at the next level. Pts/Reb/Blks, smart, tough, big.

Durant = KG with better handles and more range on the J. Saw him make a steal, dribble down court, effortless spin move for smooth jumper. Got the ball at the top of the key-two dribbles, one big step and a thunderous floating dunk. OMG. Set at the 3 with a guy right in front of him-rose and swished the 3.

Bottom line-no idea who I would take but they are both gonna be really, really great.
