I would love him assuming Acie Law is off the board.
He and Farmar would have instant chemestry and I believe that his large body and shooting abilities would allow him to be a very useful 1/2 combo guard for Phil assuming Smush is gone. |

He should be there when the Charlotte pick comes up. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |

is a SG really what we need? i mean, dont get me wrong. i like afflalo a lot and wouldnt mind using charlottes 2nd rounder. but, only if we can get a big with our first round pick or plan on getting a big via free agency or trade in the offseason.
1st round pick Acie Law
2nd round pick Aaron Afflalo
2nd round pick ??? _________________ Mmmm Mmmm Mitch! |

After what Brewer did to him - pass. In other words, I hope he doesn't sign with an agent. He is not ready. |

I would take him in the second round, he is not first round quality IMHO. I would rather have Collison who is a very very good PG defender, but he is staying in school. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

A disciplined, defender who works hard every play. Thats exactly the type of player that the lakers need right now. It would even be possible to put him on the other teams point guard since kobe, odom, walton could handle the ball. |

At UCLA, I thought Afflalo was the biggest choker on the team. He would disappear from the big game and Collison really ran the show. Afflalo is a horrible 1st option. That being said, I think Afflalo is fundamentally sound enough to be an excellent 3rd option...which is what the lakers need. He would be a good pickup in my estimation, but maybe we don't need to spend our first pick on him. Trading up with our second pick might do the trick. |

I watched Afflalo every game at UCLA and think he is way overrated. He can play NBA ball as a sub because his defense, but won't do much else in the show, IMO... |

Funny thing is I don't think he'll be a sub. He will be a 4th to 5th option player if he maxes his potential.
I mean if Raja Bell and Bruce Bowen can start... _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Afflalo certainly reminds me of a Raja Bell but with better character and intelligence. If he can hone a consistent 3 point shot, he would be a valuable asset for a team needing of a perimeter defender (aka us). _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

And that was basically the main thing that stopped Bell from starting in the NBA right away as well. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

At first I though you were describing Corey Brewer. _________________ [Insert ignorant or naive statement from poster here.] |

Affalo disappears at the first sign of competition. Comes up empty in the biggest games of his career. I'll pass. |

Right, he got into early foul trouble and had an off shooting day against a taller defender while being the only decent scoring option on the team. He still played hard which is what you want and put out 100%. It's not his fault his other teammates weren't hitting shots (remind you of a certain someone?). If you want a guy that disappears, look for Kwame Brown. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif
