Mike, you should seriously try to find mitch's fax number or email and send this to him. Theres alot of season ticket holders here who can get your message to mitch. If i was a seaon ticket holder, i would do it. I dont understand why people want sean williams when like i said bokolo has better skills and wants to improve. The guy obviously makes the most of his chances, but yet people still want williams? which do you prefer?
Bokolo
Quote:
Coachable, smart player with a great motor and desire to improve … Has shown tremendous improvement in his ball handling and point guard skills
Quote:
An outstanding defender, really gives opposing guards fits with his length and quickness … Turns steals into quick baskets with his whippet floor speed
OR
Williams
Quote:
His work ethic and commitment to basketball are very much in question...Despite having all the physical tools, Williams is not a good out of position rebounder due to his unwillingness to hustle ...Williams has received numerous opportunities to get his act together since arriving on college
Let us see lakers PG NEEDS...
Player who can penetrate and break guys off the dribble....Check
Player who can stay with his assignment...Check
Player who can bother his assignment.....Check
Player who can defend on the ball as well as team defense...Check
Player who can create steals and finish....Check
Player who wants to improve...Check
I think Bokolo is more than just a gamble. _________________ "99% of the players in the NBA would immediately have surgery to repair a torn ligament in their small finger, but

NBA Comparison: Leandro Barbosa
Strengths: Speedy combo guard with stand out athleticism … Really excels in the open floor with tremendous agility and quick feet … Long arms and great athleticism allow him to play bigger than his 6-4 height … An outstanding defender, really gives opposing guards fits with his length and quickness … Turns steals into quick baskets with his whippet floor speed … Attacks the basket well with a quick first step … Explosive player who can finish at the rim with impressive dunks ... Coachable, smart player with a great motor and desire to improve … Has shown tremendous improvement in his ball handling and point guard skills …
Weaknesses: Lacks a true position. He has dedicated himself to becoming a point guard, however his skills are not that of a true point guard … Does not have a real understanding of running a team. His ability to see the floor and find teammates for baskets is weak for a PG … Outside shooting is weak, lacks range and consistency … Struggles in the half court set …
Notes: Received playing time showing solid composure and had some exciting plays for France in place of Tony Parker (injury) in the 2006 World Championships.

^Thats why like you said, hes a project. But apparently if he was inserted into the first game of next season, he would already be doing better on D than what the lakers currecntly have at PG. Not bad for a guy who is supposed to be a project. I always feel better about a guy who already has the D being the project because to me Defense is all about desire and if thats all he can do it tells me he has the desire to be better and thats a project worth going for. _________________ "99% of the players in the NBA would immediately have surgery to repair a torn ligament in their small finger, but

I think Mike and I both started liking Bokolo about a year ago. Dude just gets after defensively. Fun to watch.
Here's my notes on him from a year ago:
Defensively, he has a tremendous motor. He gets after it. You will likely not see too many players who end up on the floor more than him. Fights over the top of screens as much as possible. Likes to body up defender and use his wingspan to contain them at times (added strength would help him here). Great lateral speed. Anticipates the passing lanes very well, especially in the zone. Definitely brings a spark and intensity on the defensive end to his team. Offensively, he is not a floor general-type of guard. He can break his man off the dribble to get in the lane and kick it out or finish. He gets off balance quite a bit trying to get the extra bit of speed on the attack. He has three range. Seems to prefer that others do the scoring.
WOW. He looks like the evolution of Smush Parker. Seems like an ideal tri PG from the write-ups on him.
DB/Mike - what do you see this guy's potential being in his first year if given good minutes? I'm thinking if he can contribute and we have an improved Bynum and Farmar, subtract a Smush, and keep a healthy LO/Kwame/Mihm it would give us a balance and solve a lot of our problems without the need for a homerun move.

why dont I see this guy's name in the mock draft? did he declare?
Question marks about his PG play and consistency. I think somebody will draft him in the 2nd round, but that's just a hunch. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Mike how does Bokolo compare to Nikagbatse?
Bokolo isn't so narrowminded when it comes to scoring. Better defensively. Nikagbatse has the tools but Bokolo uses those tools with effort, IQ, and intensity on the defensive end.
Complete contrast in games. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
