The numbers for users on at the current moment are just below that. We reached our peak earlier today at 620 users on at once. Site had a few errors and a little slow, but she held. |

Seriously, great job guys.
I remember when LG would be inaccessable at the end of any close game. Today it was slow at times but could always check for the latest updates/opinions on the KG situation.

You guys did a phenomenal job once the rumor started. I logged on and saw the 8 page thread (now more) about the 4 team trade. Next thing I know, it was running slow (as usual when a big rumor like that is announced w/ links to back it up). I get home (30-35 min. later) from work and it's up and running normal. Whatever the tweaks, I must applaud the job you guys did.

By the way, everybody, I think we've addressed the next bottleneck -- the database server connections, which was causing the "unable to connect to database" (or whatever the exact message was) errors.
At least in theory, that is. We'll need to get slammed again to test it in practice. Perhaps I should start another rumor.... |

It's an IBM x-series box running Linux. Phil posted all the specs somewhere, not too long ago, I think in the User Feedback forum.

That's very kind of you. I think we have enough horsepower right now that we can get a lot more throughput through configuration & tuning alone. We're working along those lines right now. And even a beefier server doesn't buy you much if the configuration is causing a bottleneck -- i.e., a 10-lane superhighway doesn't help if all the traffic is funneled into a single lane. |
