Cmon man! Kobe is gonna throw down a triple double tonight, while Bynum shuts down Yao _________________ Monta Ellis: "Kobe is #1, I'm #2, LeBron is #3."
Key is the bench, if we can get bench production we should win this game, if James goes off again on us, it'll be another night on LG blaming everyone.

Kobe "stunk it up" yesterday? I would disagree. I think Kobe simply didn't force things. I would say that Kobe has bought into the system - Shades of game seven in the Phoenix series. Kobe knows he isn't winning this thing by himself ... he plays within the context of the offense.
He wasn't hitting his threes, and he wasn't getting any foul calls. Kobe did not attempt a single free throw. I credit Kobe for not forcing the issue when the refs were obviously swallowing their whistles. Otherwise he had a fine game - 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals. Only 3 turnovers. 45% shooting on 9-19.
That isn't "stinking," Friend. _________________ "It’s like going to the Getty and standing in front of Van Gogh’s Irises while some schmuck next to you critiques individual brush strokes. Just shut up already. The more you talk, the more you embarrass yourself."
Houston coming off a lost at Memphis. And didn't Phil sit Kobe and most of the starters for a good chunk of the 4th last night? So maybe we should have a bit more spring in our step tonight. We've got a good chance at the win.
It should be a good game as both teams are coming off a back-to-back. We were pretty much in control during the last matchup without Odom, so I'm ready to see the matchup with full line-ups intact. Odom has always been a matchup problem for us.
If the Rockets role players/bench scorers hit their open shots then I think we win. If they are off like they have been the past few games then we will take an L.

That's a fair assessment.
On D - When facing the Rockets, I want Kobe to lock down on McGrady, make life hard for him, and I want us to go single man coverage on yao, using Bynum or Kwame to help to push him out of the lane as far from the basket as possible. After that, even if those two have good games, we can still win so long as we stay at home on the Rockets shooters. If we make sure not to give James, Alston, Head, and Battier open looks from 3 and force them to shoot a low percentage from 3, we should win this game handedly.
On O - We need to play fast on O and make Yao run. Whoever McGrady guards on D (either LO or Kobe) needs to punish him - McGrady is a pretty bad defender (I have seen even Luke score on him relatively easily). If Battier matches up with Kobe, it means McGrady guards LO.. so again, thats a ket match up. We should milk the screen and rolls between kobe and Bynum/Kwame/Mihm. I don't think Yao nor Scola have the foot speed to recover which would turn Houston's D into scramble mode thus leaving us with open looks - which means Fisher, Vlad, Luke, Ronny, and Farmar all need to make their open Js. Lastly, we need to run as much possible - its the best way to get Yao into being a non-factor in the 4th quarter (which he still has a tendency to do when he faces running teams).
Keys to the Game:
1. Keep our TOs down (as usual)
2. Make McGrady shoot for a low percentage.
3. Keep Yao out of the paint.
4. The Lakers need to run as much as possible on O.
5. Keep the Rockets 3pt shooters shooting under 40%. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
