Don't ever ever ever sing that song! That song is bad luck for the Lakers, ask Jack Cooke.

I wonder if "Special advisor Jerry West" had a lil' something to do with this....

Oh and adding Gasol the perfect fit up front with Bynum in the TRI equals a few years of bling's....

I never post here anymore but as soon as I heard this trade I had to give nothing but love to Jim and Mitch. I take back bad thing I ever said about them. Dynasty here we come. I guess the phone in the Mitch's office is connected after all.

When I first saw that we had traded for Gasol I was so worried that Sasha was included. Mitch has to be the greatest GM of all time for getting Gasol and keeping Sasha.

Does anyone else think that Odom is now extremely out of place?

I hate to do teh I told you so but man do I feel good at all the jackasses on here who were swearing up and down we didn't have enough to pull off a trade. Real tempted to call some peeps out too.

Why would X team do that trade? Despite evidence to the contrary with EVERY SINGLE freaking disgruntled player who were asking for a trade, somehow our trash didn't amount to the other trash those teams got for THEIR disgruntled. Ridiculous.

Incredible, amazing trade. Pau was my 1a to Garnett's 1--and they got him for really three draft picks (counting Critt)!

WAY TO GO MITCH!!!

(I hope Bynum comes back--and with at least a couple of weeks in the season to get things together)

I have been a Laker fan since 1962 and cannot remember a better trade (okay Vlade for the rights to Kobe was pretty good).

One of my employees called me and it took him 20 minutes to convince me he wasn't kidding. I am very excited about this.

No, I don't think they will win a championship this year, although stranger things ahve happened. I do look for them to be a contender for the next 5 years with this team, though.

I would NOT do the Kidd deal people are suggesting. If we can get him for relatively nothing, like we did with Gasol, yes. I'd even give up Lamar maybe. But not Farmar. We will need him down the road.

Aren't you glad we didn't trade Bynum in a Garnett or Kidd package???

And the Loss to detroit, a loss was a good thing in this case!!

Lakers just turned into a monster before our very eyes!

Someone please buy Mitch a drink or a hooker or something and then run fast. Because we all are thieves now. We flat out stole Pau Gasol. I still can't believe it. And no, stranger things have NOT happened. This is the craziest thing that ever happened to the Lakers. I'm gonna wear my Lakers shooting shirt all day tomorrow. Just because.

WE'RE BACK!!!

Mitch said that they were happy with the team and not looking to trade until Bynum went out. As for Detroit, this has been discussed for a couple of weeks, maybe that loss gave the FO some urgency.

Give Kupckae his props. He has made spectacular moves this yeart and his drafts are paying off. Now the Shaq trade is for Gasol and Odom. This make that trade looks better.

We need Pau to show up at the press conference and say "they better get the rings fitted now", ala Horace Grant. When Ho said that, I knew we were going to repeat.
