I remember watching Jordan...when nothing was working, he took it to the hoop to get fouled. Get the mo' back.

I have never understood why Kobe has never really done that. If he's watched Jordan videos so many times....it's bizarre. Again, where is Jackson in all of this?

pretty much the same as any other loss in the Finals

except (and I know I'm probably alone on this one) it's almost better because you know you can only blame your team. had a fair shot, a great shot, choked bad and blew it

and you can't blame them. any other guy in the league gets the MVP then chokes like this for the entire game in an absolutely critical HOME GAME in the Finals, and you know we would all be saying this about him

True MVPs such as Magic, Bird, or Jordan NEVER would have put on a disgraceful performance as he did tonight, and neither of them would have let their team choke away a 24 point lead. The Kobe nuthuggers will start exploding, but oh well. Also, Doc Rivers has totally outcoached the overrated phil jackson this series.

Not true. The Lakers lost the '84 Finals because Magic choked at the end of Game 7.

Kobe has very good team around him...shouldn't make excuses the Celts earned the win by sticking with it and we gave it to them by not executing...you don't blow a 24 lead at home the coaches hold some responsibility but the players have to show up Kobe tried to pass it out like he did in the first half but players missed shots, players made sloppy passes and the kobe began to force it a bit.....and the D like it has been all series was atrocious in the second half....this is why a player like Bynum is so mportant to this team I mean how many freakin layups did we give up in the second half we have a good scoring bench but when it comes to D they suck except for 1 or 2 players that will have to be addressed

magic had kareem. jordan had pippen. kobe does not have MUCH to work with here and yet they're western conference champs

This is the freaking MVP finals. He obviously has plenty of talent surrounding him, otherwise he wouldn't be in the finals. Don't even try and use that excuse for him.

Magic didn't just choke in Game 7. Game 2 he did not get a shot off at the end. Game 4 he missed free throws and had terrible turnovers. Afterward he was labeled a choker and would never be clutch. Check out Larry Bird's performance in 1985. He was fairly abysmal. How about Jordan in 1995 against Orlando. Yes, it was after the comeback, but he still choked. It happens. It doesn't define a career or a player.

Refresh my memory. Did they have a 24 point lead in that game? Was that a HOME game for the Lakers? NO and NO. NEXT

Well AV, it comes down to leadership. It wasn't the first time we blew a huge lead this year. remember the 30 point lead vs. NO?

Jordan would've kept taking it tpo the hoop and not try the acrobatic jump shots. Get fouled, get the freethrow line and kill the other team's momentum.

LO and Gasol are both good players....LO had a great first half but it's the finals the whole freakin team needs to show up
Walton has been a HUGE disappointment
Rad has largely been a complete failure
Ariza - given he came back from injury give him props
Ronnie - has generally sucked big time
LO - has really shown up for one half in the entire series
KB - has been so so for him
Fish - has pretty much sucked
I could go on but the point is the team hasn't played well

You know, AB wouldn't have let Ray waltz in there. They're a veteran team and we're young, but we'll be ready next year!!!

i agree with some of that and disagree
Turiaf has been a bigger failure than Radman, radman can at least provide 8 ppg so i would call turiaf and walton the complete failures
fish has sucked? in general or game 4?

Never said that. But Kobe's the closest thing and he's said many times he modeled his game to Jordan's. when nothing else was working i remember Jordan taking it to the hoop to kill momentum and at least put a few points on the board.

I will lose a lot of respect for him if kobe goes into pouting mode. The whole team BLEW this game. He was a big part of it as well.

I agree with you that Kobe didn't do what he should have and honestly I feel Kobe is being paid off. When do you recall Kobe not showing emotion let alone the NBA Finals; something is just not right.
