Yao Ming faking an injury? That's ridiculous. Look at his health history. No way he was faking it. If anything, he's gonna feel it the rest of the series. It's not like Yao was skipping around back onto the court like Pierce, he was visibly limping back onto the court. |

Basically, everything has to go wrong for the Lakers to lose, we had Kobe, Pau and Lamar playing badly, Drew not getting enough minutes and Fish being Fish.
If anyone believes Kobe, Pau and Lamar are all going to play that badly again the rest of the series, you should leave now because they won't.
The only problem is that this game should be looked at by the players as a kick up the behind but I doubt the players have that mentallity to think like that and that is the main problem I see with this lost.
The only way to disprove this is by coming out in game 2 like they should of done tonight, with fire in their belly and not playing below their so called talent. _________________ "This is a comptitive city. Brooks is already on the phone with Bibby and Hudson, asking them how big of a cut they had to give up to The Anti-Guard. |

Kinda reminded me of Utah game 3 loss -- the BIG difference is we lost at home -- championship teams traditionally don't lose at home. Lakers need to win 4 straight to remove the taste of this horrible loss. |

Fish should never be on Brooks agian this series. Farmar, Ariza, or Brown should be on him, Fish is just getting embarrassed out there. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Is that the reason he has a prominent role in the player's union? |

Aaron Brooks is going to blow by our guards from time to time -- Bynum or Lamar or Pau needs to flyswat his garbage into the third row. |

This especially pissed me off. I saw 3 easy layups for Brooks with Gasol and Bynum doing (bleep). No contest, nothing. |

I think you meant Gasol and Bynum NOT doing (bleep). Because if they were doing (bleep), at least we would all know they actually showed up to the game. |

I told everyone that this felt like Game 3 vs Utah. It just had that feeling and Kobe once again tries to shoot himself out of slump instead of getting everyone else involved. I love Kobe but he seriously needs to stop that. Also, is something wrong wtih Gasol not just in this game but in Utah they seem to almost get a turnover from him. Is he ok? |

One big difference -- the loss was at HOME! Huge difference. |

Agreed, don't think he was faking and nice to see the crowd applaud his return. |

Phil Jackson's pride and stubbornness got the best of him tonight. Anyone that follows the Rockets knows that Yao and the Rockets offense bogs down when you FRONT YAO. If you just concede the post entry pass to Yao, you'll get what you got tonight. He's too big and too skilled. On the other hand, he is slow and couldn't jump over a phone book, so fronting JUST WORKS. As Jeff Van Gundy pointed out on NATIONAL TV, you don't even really need to have a second defender covering on the weakside since Yao CAN'T JUMP, and the post entry passers know this, making them hesitant to throw lob passes over the fronting defense in fear of turnovers.
I noticed one or two possessions where the Lakers did front Yao, but they weren't even close to being consistent with it.
I'll be interested to see if Phil puts aside his pride and does the right thing next game: FRONT YAO |

Think doubling Yao is the main thing. It looks like he sucks when he is doubled. When he is single covered his length alone will get him near the basket. That and fronting him. |

Lakers proving yet again that they have too many softies on this team.
Bynum and Gasol are such softies. They did not respond to Houston's physical play well. Don't think anyone played well actually.
If Fisher does not score he immediately becomes a liability. Gonna be tough coming back against the Rockets (what happened during the season means nothing). |

That was an up-and-coming Houston team against a multiple-champion, battle-tested Lakers' team.
Difference is, this year's Lakers have accomplished absolutely ZERO, yet walk around and think like they're already the champs. |

We did front Yao in the 4th quarter but then Aaron Brooks would just run off Yao's pick for an easy layup. |

Hey man, we both know full well that Phil will go with the same game plan in game 2 in regards to the defensive assignment against Brooks. That is, putting Fisher on him for the majority of the game. Why even bother pretending that that won't be the case? |

WAKE UP CALL!!!!!
Being Rusty ain't no Excuse!!
It's the MOFO' Playoffs!!!
Gotta be ready to chop off everyones head no matter what!!!
Series is far from over and we gave Houston home court now.
Gotta come out and destroy them in game 2 and especially both times in Houston. _________________ "Tryin' to get that Kobe number, One Over Jordan"
