I don't know if anyone else is watching this game and at the site, so maybe this thread will be just for me to vent...

But I said it last week, it's mid 1st quarter now and I'll say it again - Booty is just not impressive to me...

He has no swagger, and no playmaking ability at all...He showed playing in relief of Leinart that he was fairly mobile, but I've not seen it once this season...

Couple that with the fact that we don't have game-breaking playmakers at the skill positions - I don't think there's any way we go undefeated...

Turner, our #1 reciever, gets nothing after the catch, and we don't have anybody to get behind the defense...

Our most elusive running backs put the ball on the ground too often...

I'm just not seeing a lot positive right now...

Its the 1st quarter - chill out.

The real concern in the OL injuries. O'Dowd has been awesome for a true frosh. Hopefully he can come back. Malu and Spanos need to pay attention and stop getting penalties.

Gotta get Stafon or Chauncey going with some consistency and take the crowd out of this. Every Pac 10 team comes out fired up against USC, but we neutralize them as the game goes on.

Booty does have a problem locking on to WRs though. I thought they worked on this in the offseason.

There was nowhere else that safety couldve been, bad throw by JDB.

I've thought that about Booty since last season...1st quarter just reinforces it...

1 play, 2 OL down...Sucks...Reinforced by back-2-back false starts...

Washington strikes me as a 2nd half/lead secured back...Kind of like OJ Anderson back in the day for the NY Giants...Stafon seems the most promising of the young backs, but doesn't appear to be a game breaker...I'm holding hope for CJ or McKnight...

Gable's dissapearance is frustrating. Hes not injured and was awesome in the first two games. Maybe hes not pass blocking in practice?

Stafon looks like he can have a big game today if the OL lets him.

Defensive gameplan against Locker also looks fine. Hes a very promising young QB but looks too impatient and wants to take off before waiting for WRs to get open.

I can't remember a deep ball this season...

Do we not have the speed to get behind the defense or is Booty not throwing it?

(And as I type, we lose a fumble on another screwed up center exchange...

Wow...)

USC finally gets at least REGULAR field position, and makes it look relatively easy...

17-14, USC, at the half, and it's only a close game because of Booty's miscues...

The way I see it, he's responsible for all 3 turnovers - and as we all know, turnovers will kill you....

He locked onto Turner and threw it staight to the WAS FS...

He pulled out too soon shortly after the starting center was injured, and dropped the ball...Lost fumble...

He threw behind Havili who tipped the ball trying to catch it, and the insuing INT went for 7...

The good news is, the run game is starting to click...

I agree with all of that but give some credit to the Huskies. They made some stupid mistakes of their own and still managed to keep themselves in the game against the #1 team in the nation. It wasn't just USC beating themselves on this one.

Also, if it weren't for that stupid boneheaded play by Russo (UW), this could've been a whole new ball game and we could be talking either an upset or an overtime. Not to mention Locker needs to work on his accuracy and limit the tendency to run too often. But he's still a freshman.

With that said, it was a great game. I'm just proud that my Huskies hung in there the entire game against the best team in nation.

Go Huskies!

That one was the center's fault. He said his elbow pad got caught on his knee brace (or something like that) and he shorted the snap.

Booty will be a 3rd string QB in the NFL and his upside is a career backup. We've just been spoiled because of Carson and Leinart. Booty doesn't have the touch and accuracy those guys had. All his passes are darts, which are easy to pick off or knock down. He doesn't understand angles and when to float it up there over the defender. It's just bullet, bullet, bullet every time. Booty will cost USC at least 1 game this season.

I've always thought Booty was way overrated.
