I'm sorry, how many players in the league averaged a double double exactly last year? 9 out of 450.
Of those 9, how many scored at least 18.5 a game? 4
Of those 4, how many players did it on 14 shots or less? 2 - Andrew & Dwight.
Yeah, Andrew had a damn good season last year. |

He's been such a damn headcase that we forget his amazing overall contribution last year, 30 reb and 10 blk games don't happen every day. _________________

If he wins #7, it's going to be 24 in a landslide.
I mean, that's one more than jordan, AND his seventh puts the Lakers ahead of the hated ones (if you exclude the NBL title). |

# 24 because for more than any other reason it will be the last (most recent) number he wore.... _________________ Rule = win titles

24 is his no shaq #, the most recent #, and if he wins another chip then it's all even.
You could hand a 8/24 jersey in the rafters, and if the numbers don't fit then reduce it to 1/3. _________________ Mama, There Goes That Mamba. |

I never said he didn't have a good season, did I? I see nothing spectacular neither in his game nor this past season of his. |

After having a spectacular season, where he averaged 18 plus points and 11 plus rebounds per game, Andrew Bynum is enjoying the fruits of his labour.
In a league where conventional big men have become a scarcity, Bynum has an advantage when it comes to playing the centre position, and he has excelled in his role for the Los Angeles Lakers. At a young age of 24, the seven footer is now headed for much greater success.
Bynum is currently on the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. It was reported yesterday that Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak has initiated contract negotiations with his agent. However, it is highly unlikely that Bynum will sign an extension with the Lakers. If he signs an extension, he can get a three year deal. However, if he waits till the end of next season and becomes a free agent, he can either sign a five year max contract with the Lakers or a four year contract with any other team.
Bynum’s agent, David Lee, refused the claims that he had a list of preferred destinations while talking to ESPNLosAngeles.com.
“Lee also denied that Bynum had a list of preferred destinations, saying he and Bynum chuckled when they read reports while on vacation in Alaska last week indicating he already had made such decisions,” reported ESPNLosAngeles.com. |

Maybe the good news here is that he should be highly motivated to do well this season, knowing that a lackluster performance might affect his ability to get a max contract. |

^^Meh, Asik got 25/3, McGee got 44/4. Andrew is getting the max regardless of his performance in 2012/2013. Talented All-Star back to the basket bigs are a rarity in the NBA. |

^^ Yep. Kris Humphries is getting 24/2. Kwame Brown manages to keep working. Short of dropping dead, Drew is getting max no matter what. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

Kobe Bryant goes back to school: Lakers switching to Princeton offense
Quote: | – Kobe Bryant has been searching for spacing and freedom and flow on offense, for a way to counter defenses bent on sagging and suffocating him on the floor. Even before the Los Angeles Lakers delivered him point guard Steve Nash, Bryant had raised an idea with coach Mike Brown about the possibility of employing a distant cousin to the triangle – the Princeton offense.
So there was Brown and Bryant in a side room in a Las Vegas gymnasium during Team USA's training camp in early July, listening to Eddie Jordan detail the offense's intricacies, laying out how Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum would benefit with and without the basketball. Here was an old-school Ivy League blueprint daring to be a solution for the Showtime Lakers' issues.
Jordan happens to be the foremost Princeton authority in the NBA, the heir to architect Pete Carril, and that's an immense part of why the Lakers are moving toward an agreement to hire Jordan as an assistant coach. |

They should just hang a Jersey in the rafters with no number on it. Just the name Kobe on it, so he'll always be remembered as Mr Lakers. Jerry west is "The Logo" , and Kobe would be "The Laker". _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. A Streetwise Smart Bomb, Out of rehab and In denial. I'm with Jam on this. I had thought about it before and thought a retired "8/24" would be the best way to retire his jersey. |

Am I the only one who thinks the debate of "which Kobe number should be retired" is a very pointless one? The Lakers don't retire the number because the number made any significant value. They retire it because the player who wore it was Hall of Fame worthy. Kobe Bryant is one player with many many accomplishments. The key word is ONE. There's no way they're going to retire two numbers for one player. He will probably be wearing 24 when he retires so that's the number they're putting in the rafters. Who knows... maybe they'll let Kobe decide which number he wants retired. But lets not kid ourselves... you know it will be 24 that gets retired. |

Both. Nobody should be wearing 8 or 24, especially after Kobe retires as all time leading NBA scorer with 9 rings. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
