Might be a good pickup next year - what Aaron McKie should have been for the Lakers. A perimeter defender with an outside shot.

Interesting suggestion.

IMHO, I think the only team Buckner looks pursue-worthy for is us. That's because the only value I see in him is that he plays "good D" when the refs let him grab and hold Kobe with or without the ball all game long.

Melo managed to pick up a late foul on Kobe by running into him and throwing up his arms. That was the entire game for Kobe against Buckner. This seems even more pronounced than D by Raja Bell, Earl Watson, Andre Iguodola and Trenton Hassell - bc those guys are actually athletic (Hassell - sort of).

There is no way he gets away with that guarding Wade, VC, AI, Terry, Nash, Parker, Ginobili, Ray Ray, Rip, Chauncey, Hughes or GA. So his value is thus diminished.

Elson was a future hall of famer tonight. Sign him. I mean, 8 of 9 from the field, can't go wrong there.

Buckner would be an excellent pick-up for the LLE. I've been saying that for a while now. And we could definitely get him for the LLE. Sign Profit for vet minimum and Buckner for LLE and you've got an excellent rotation at SG.

Elson OTOH isn't worth more than the vet minimum. The guy's 30 years old and is averaging 4 points 4 rebounds in 21 mpg. Give Turiaf those minutes consistently and he'll give you that easily next season. If you can get him for vet minimum, though, I wouldn't mind having him. But only for the vet min.
