Just another? While he can be injured because of his age he has a lot more talent then the likes of Mckie. Also Sam played 78 games this season only 2 less then Kobe did.

Maybe our MLE is cursed. You guys think Antonio daniels or earl watson would have been injured all season too? _________________ I guess i'm not a business suit wearin guy like you,I'm a gangsta i suppose. Avon Barksdale |

obviously the lakers havent had luck w/ the MLE... I hope they learned from the past 2 years and go in another direction. AGED players w/ injury concerns should not be looked at unless they are taking a vet min.
Sam is one of them. |

with him, we might be voted the most "handsome" team next season _________________ When you do something that you truly, truly love doing, you find yourself wanting to do it all the time.
Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael |

I understand wanting to go young, but Marcus Banks is hard to pass up. Defensive pg who is starting to show offensive abilities?? MUCH prefer him over Duhon and Cassell... |

Whats wrong with Duhon?
Hes probably a better defender than banks and has offense to go along with it. |

i made a thread a few weeks ago about the lakers getting cassell and everyone bashed me. the lakers are only going to add an MLE player (i am not expecting a major trade) and cassell would be a nice fit. he's an upgrade over parker, but parker would have some nice value coming off the bench. or perhaps you could deal parker or vujacic for a draft pick or something. |

Cassell said he planned to come off the bench for the Clippers next season, and act as a tutor to Livingston. I've never put much trust in NY media. |

Banks is a FA, and Duhon is not. I'd be thrilled with either one. |

I'd pick up Sam in a heartbeat. Dude is a winner everywhere he goes. It's no coincidence that when he went to Minny they won 61 and got to the WCF, and now the Clips, the CLIPS - are in the playoffs. We'd win 10 more games with Sam on this team FOR SURE. Sam is also clutch as hell, and would take a lot of pressure off of Kobe for having to take the last shots all the time. I bet he'd get more than a few game winners here. |

I have followed this guy and been amazed by him since he was at Florida State.
A very shifty player, the last mid-range shooting guard in the NBA perhaps and a tremendously savvy playoff performer.
Lakers would be lucky to get him, I don't care that he is 40 and moves like he is 50....dude is a gamer. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Cassell helps short term, and still doesn't help with our problem of getting torched by every PG in the league. We need a young player that has not hit his prime, that is ready to break out, and could grow with the team long term.
Having said that I fully expect Phil and Mitch to go all out for ET. He will play good for the 1st half of the season, then compeltly break down in the 2nd. Then there will 800 "how dumb is Mitch for wasting the MLE again on a againg vet" threads.
Just say no to ET!!!!!!!! |
TY. were not getting E.T, unless its on a veterans minimum. We have a good sum of money this off season and i dont see him , in our main planes. |

No, we need a veteran PG. Preferably one that has been successful in the playoffs. That vet presence was sorely missing this season, it probably cost the Lakers at least 4 or 5 wins. We have enough youth, we need to mix in some vets. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Cassell is just the clutch veteran we need with an outside shot. |

I like Sam as well, but he needs the ball in his hands 2 be a force. So what happens to LO if Sam comes? Not a good move for the Lakers at this time. |

An old veteran signing with the Lakers in the off-season, you guys know that means season (or near season) ending injury. |
