Len is a good athlete with good size, and he’s pretty skilled, even if still a bit unrefined. He also had surgery in early May and can’t work out for teams, so I’m not sure why his stock has risen so rapidly since. To me, it seems like teams are too swayed by the flaws they see in players who can work out as Len holds steady without having to prove himself. The very-credible Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress has Len atop his draft board, though, so it’s tough to argue Len would be a total reach at No. 1.

Soft and an injury risk. It would be nice if he had Noel's aggressiveness. If he's had ankle problems and this stress fracture in college, it doesn't bode well for his 7" frame in the pros. Stress fractures usually heal well in normal people but he's going to be a 7" in the NBA. He'll add bulk and his ankle will see more stress and wear.

Could be a smokescreen for someone that's really interested because question marks aside, he's a legit 7 footer.

I don't think he's a soft player.

In his highlights, he looks like he plays with his height and length. In college at his size, I would have expected him to play with more physicality.

He might be a decent pro but I don't think he's worthy of going #1 even if this draft doesn't have a clear #1.

He looks to have more offensive skill than Valanciunas.

He does, but I think Jonas has the same moves, just couldn't pull it off NBA level because he needs more strength.

Valanciunas is really solid though. Had him on my fantasy team and after Barganani went down the guy just played out of his mind. I was seeing 20-10 games night in and night out. Love the dude.

Len is nimble for his size. But at #1, whoa.

What a horrible draft if Len might go #1.

It shouldn't be surprising.

Len is an above average athlete, above average size, above average skill, and he's young, so there's plenty of upside.

Noel? Injury risk.
McLemore? Not a shot creator.
Oladipo? Not a shot creator.
Bennett? Question marks on body language, asthma, and defensive effort.

If Len is a 16ppg 12rpg 2bpg guy, is it really that bad of a draft?

I can't see him averaging those stats in the NBA. I don't think he has the durability (though he played most of the games this year) to do it.

He averaged 21 and 26 mpg respectively (26 representing this year) and averaged this year 12 ppg, 8 rpg. One can say that per 36, he'd average more, but can he really play 36 mpg, 82 games per year at the NBA level?

too much of a gamble at #1, and if I have the #1 pick, I'm trying to get rid of it for the reasons you stated above. This is truly a #1-less draft.

I don't think this is that much different from D12 vs. Emeka Okafor.

D12 was the raw athlete with defensive potential off the wall. Okafor was the skilled 4 year senior with back problems.

Len did a 10 game suspension his frosh year. Stress fractures heal better than backs, or ACLs for that matter.

I think Len is a product of being on an NIT tourney school, less hype, yet has shown flashes just like Anthony Bennett anyway.

Len is as much of an injury risk as the rest of them. Stress fractures in the feet or ankles of big men aren't the same as on smaller guys.

It's funny -- it actually strikes me as a draft that's very top-light. A lot of decent prospects in the late 1st to mid-2nd round. No real superstars at the top.

Great draft for teams like the lakers who need young athletic players at just about every position!! Since this draft is so "terrible" maybe pau can net us both of cleavlands picks. I'd take Otto porter and Jamal Franklin or olodipo and Schroeder. Heck it wouldn't matter which two we pick because we're that desperate for young atheletes.
