I thought this was one of those topics for the Extenze and Viagra type pills. _________________ "Love me or hate me; it's one or the other. Always has been. Hate my game, my swagger. Why is this "strength and length" post right above the "Jason Collins and gay taunts" post? Strange juxtaposition. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Well, considering you choose good length against average strength, length will win.
Where are James or Howard in strength!?!
dwight doesnt use strength properly. so i wont even use him. he uses his hops. when he starts using his strength. he starts offensivel fouling people. _________________ LAL4K3RS wrote: He(Kobe) is the white haired kung fu master that you realize is older than dirt but can still kick your arse when in a sitting position drinking a nice herbal tea.
REVISED
Dante Exum
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Kevin Durant
Anthony Davis
Joel Embiid
Coach: Phil Jackson
vs
Marcus Smart
Lance Stephenson
Carmelo Anthony
Blake Griffin
Cameron Ridley
Coach: Pat Riley
Who wins head-to-head? And which team would you rather have?
How come these coaches are on their respective teams?
Anyway, I would pick the length team especially if it had Riley as coach.
The strength team is good but Melo isn't gonna stop Durant. The length team is just too good IMO
I assigned the coaches based on the personalities of the repective teams.
I was going back and forth between whether to put Melo or Lebron on the strength team. Would it change your prediction if Lebron was at the 3 on that team?

Ah I see. I actually think that Riley fits the length team more than the strength team.
As for putting lebron on the strength team instead of melo, that would make it a much more competitive contest. But, I do not think Lebron could play with Phil. Lebron isn't a half court player. His jumper is weak but he does have a decent post game. What he excels at is in an uptemo system. A team that focuses on turnovers maximizes lebron's strengths which is transition play. There also isn't enough spacing on the strength team to maximize the drive and kick game with lebron.
I would still pick the length team because of their incredible front court defense (If Embiid pans out), as well as the fact that they have Durant who can score for an entire team. It would be a harder victory, but a victory nonetheless for the length team.

Good arguements! That length team would just be able to disrupt everything by hands in the passing lanes and contesting shots. I tend to lean towards them as well.
However if the strength team is successful in pushing them off their spots where they are comfortable offensively and "mucking up" the game a bit I can see them taking it too. You're right that their biggest weakness would be spacing. Not enough shooters.

Girth is usually preferred over length...at least in the data I've read.

This question is probably better answered by asking, given the exact same skills, would you want a player with the Lebron body type or the Durant body type?

Exact same of what skills? One skill set is more beneficial to a body type than another. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Let's say we dropped Grant Hill's skills into their bodies and developed from there.

LeBron. Hill had a scary first step, a money mid-range jumper, and was especially good at finishing at the rim. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Makes sense. What sort of skill development path would you recommend Giannis going after?
