It's been a long season guys and gals...but we finally made it through. This is probably one of the most painful seasons I've had to sit through.
Now we can look forward to the new incoming young talent we're about to acquire through the draft, the potential free agent coming here in the summer, the potential washing our hands of dantoni, and an overall new look next season.
It's pretty sad that we will likely lose pau and hill. It's also likely we will never see kobe return to his dominating form. But this is a new era, and seasons always change, we just have to embrace it, and stop dredging on what used to be or what could have been.
I've been around lg since it was lg.com, and this place brings me relief from my stress filled world. I log on every hour on the hour, win or lose just to read the hilarity filled posts, and to troll people every now and then with my opposing opinion. This place is a jewel for lakers fans.
...But we made it through this season, and the next year will be brighter. even if it is not by much, it will be brighter.
So to my fellow lg'ers, be happy this season is done, and best believe we will get to see a parade on Figueroa within the next 5-6 years. |

You mean the laker season didnt end the world as we know it, and our lives will continue? Damn, now you tell me, after I gave away all my possessions... _________________ “We must always take sides. The depressing thing is that we did not start so bad.
Instead, at least I got my hopes up.
Only to see the injuries kick in... _________________ .

I share your thoughts about LG, it has been a wonder escape from the real world and it has also a place that offers a wide variation of opinions. It never ceases to amaze me the intellectual talent that follow the Lakers. Reading some of the sparing matches often times requires a dictionary, it seems like at times it's the poster who can use the most nickel words that wins the argument.
I would like to think the Lakers will improve, however there are so many really good teams in the West, the Suns 48 wins does not even get them to the playoffs. I am not impressed with Jim Buss and he is the one that is calling the shots. IMO building a team requires an experienced NBA mind that can mix the right talent and the right personalities, I do not see Jim Buss as qualified to build a team and Mitch seems to have decided that a regular paycheck is worth being a Jim Buss supporter. The Lakers need a clear leader and right now I do not see that. I am not optimistic, the hill that needs to be climbed for a great Lakers leader is substantial, I just do not see Jim Buss as a great team leader/builder. _________________ .....

Probably. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Lakers become the Knicks of the west and go 40+ years without a title, yet have a nice cushy tv deal to keep things interesting.
40 years from now hope I'm not saying that I've been a long suffering Lakers fan since the Jim Buss years. |
