Since point guards seem to be what everyone is talking about these days. I thought I would throw one out there for you guys to dismantle.

Have at it!

We already have one like him in Farmar.

Exactly. Not to mention, Luke Ridnour has more experience and we wouldn't have to wait as long for him to develope bacause he is almost in his prime.

I can't say alot about Farmar cuz I haven't really seen him play much, but Luke has shown me some spectacular things these last couple of years.

He almost fits Phils "ideal" point guard as well.

I'd rather have Earl Watson. Ridnour's a matador.

Sure, I'll repeat them.

I gave the Lakers a B-

The only players I could debate were:
Maurice Ager
Mardy Collins
James White

I just don't understand where the Lakers were going with the pick. I really think James White would've been a Laker if Farmar wasn't available.

I like his offensive upside, but I don't see great defensive ability at PG. He's right along the lines of Ridnour, Nash... in terms of PG intangibles. Needs a better jumpshot. Could be equally aggressive attacking the basket as Nash. That'd really sway my opinion.

Why not an A+? Because teams like Boston stole the guy I wanted, Rajon Rondo.

Quote:
Phoenix acquires a future first-round pick from Boston for Brian Grant, the Draft rights to Rajon Rondo and cash considerations.

Of all the guards in the draft, he's the top 2 ball-handler, top 2 playmaker, top 2 defender. His lack of jumpshot doesn't warrant the excellent skills and size at all other areas.

Ager, is a legit NBA talent. Size, athleticism, skills. Would've allowed Bryant to slide to SF with Odom at PF if the matchups warrant so.

Mardy Collins is the better system-triangle PG with elite size at the PG slot. A bit slow laterally, but makes up for that with a 6'4"+ height and 6'10" wingspan. Nash and Bibby have problems with bigger PGs. He certainly has 2-way ability.

James White is the elite athlete who was consistent in terms of scoring, rebounding, and defense. Longer learning curve, but could end up a stud 2-way SG as well.
