This is why you develop players over 81 games slowly. I agreed with Coach Scott during preseason. A reporter beamed about Randle. "Did you like what you saw out there?" B Scott kindly said Randle was a lost rookie... It takes years to develop in the NBA. Sure it's an awful start but hey look at Blake Griffin he sat out his first season in rehab. I see more upside with Randle then most of our picks.

I feel for Lakers fans being a Pacer fan and watching our season blow up when Paul George broke his leg.

Like Paul, Julius Randle is young and his leg will heal in time. I'm also hearing like Paul, he'll have a rod inserted for stability in the leg. After PG's injury Joe Theisman the old qb who had his leg snapped in 2 , said one thing is for certain with that rod in there you don't have to worry abut breaking that leg again.

As an NBA fan I wish nothing but a complete and speedy recovery for JR.

The snap is audible with all the mics in that area.

I just wanted to cry last night. I can't believe this is happening again, for the 3rd straight season.

I feel sorry for Julius. Get well soon, kid.

So does anyone know the projected recovery date? I'm assuming he's out for the year even if he's able to play towards the end of the season? Sit him out like Noel and Blake Griffin and he'll be back stronger. I think he'll need to get his body into shape once he's able to. Hit the weightroom Jules and work on that jumper. He'll be back.

Terrible at anytime.... But for his first game in the NBA, a dream game, and this to happen? Wow just terrible.

The one thing we got out of last years misery was Randle, and now this?

I hope he gets back for at least half the season, gets time under his belt, and still gets some growth out of this season game wise.

Isn't that the customary time for the bone to heal? Then you have to do physical rehab, then basketball training. That's a lot of time IMO.

I've read 4-6 months, but then he would need time to get back in shape.

I would be shocked if we see Randle again this season. He'll be fine though, Kobe and Byron will keep him in good spirits and help any way they can.

I'm not surprised, the way he played at times, just bumrushing, with a bull-in-a-china shop mentality ~ he was going to get hurt eventually. If he had more time to develop his feet and finesse, as well as develop the smarts needed at this level this wouldnt have happened.

idk man, I dont buy the bull in a china shop excuse -- it's basketball,,, not football. it's a literal china shop, and i don't expect someone to get hurt in a china shop

it was an awkward, out of control attempt like most of his attempts. this was actually predicted in the "official" julius thread.

I predict by next summer, he will be chiseled, have a more-NBA body and an improved jumper. Book it. This is the silver lining. A chance to get his body right. He'll be checking in on practices, building rapport with his team. But in his down time, he's going to get that body right.

No big deal, they should take those screws out as long sat they are there...

This will open up PT for Kelly is all, we will need Randle certainly next season when Booz is gone...

We don't have a prayer this season so we should look at the diver lining...

What a terrible break, literally both for the kid and for his team. Here I was thinking he's to be the first solid rebuilding block, the second best player on the roster by season's end, and the salve to cool our bruised Laker natures throughout the campaign. Not to be, not yet anyway.

I couldn't tell from the radio call; is this injury to the same leg upon which he'd repaired his ankle in high school ?
