Very interested to see this new Lineup. I hope Ed Davis is starting. Finally gets some interior defense and tim protection. _________________ For the whole real truth about Jeremy Lin and his toxic tenure with Houston and Kevin Mchale to a new beginning with the Lakers read my post on Pg 108 in "Official Jeremy Lin thread" posted 11/20/14 at 7:39pm. |

Quote: | What will Lakers’ starting lineup look like vs. New Orleans?
It makes sense the Lakers will make changes. After all, they rank last out of 30 NBA teams in total defense, allowing 111.2 points per game. Bryant has also taken a league-leading 447 shots out of the Lakers’ 1,726 attempts, something both Scott and Bryant say reflects his supporting cast’s inconsistency.
Will any lineup shuffling make a substantial difference?

IT HAS TO BE ED DAVIS. IMAGINE THE STAT LINE THE BROW WOULD PUT UP ON BOOZER. LIKE 38/14 2STLS 5BLKS 52%FG (which might be his stat line anyway) |

This is a loss, it doesn't matter who starts for the Lakers. Anthony Davis is still going to put up great numbers and challenge everything at the rim. |

Let's see if Scott actually has the balls to change up the lineup. Probably will swap out Lin but too chicken to take out the main culprit (Boozer). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I think it is Boozer who goes to the bench first if anyone. Beyond that Lin may too but to play Price as a starter is asinine. The guy is not producing and Lin has enough, last game Lin showed what he can do if the team needs quick baskets (won't happen tonight with Davis in there though)
Tonight is going to be a load of mid-range shots due to Davis and Asik's ability to block shots so if they aren't falling, long night and Davis is going to get his. |

Booze and Wes to the bench. Davis and Ellington to the starters. Win tonight. Let's see if I'm right about any of that. |

That would be too logical and obvious to us. Don't forget the BS factor. |

The obvious person to bench is Boozer. The next most logical is Wesley.
I expect, based on all the preparatory smoke streaming from the media, that it will be Boozer and Lin.
As long as Boozer is on the list, it will work out as a net positive for the starters, as removing his net minus will swamp any other effects of the roster changes. Plus, the bench will start sucking more due to the BAD* syndrome... so whoever moves with Boozer is to be pitied.
*Boozer Anchors the Defense. Not in a good way. |

He actually sets picks for the opponent's players with his slow reactions and continues with that stupid push in the back foul, on both the offense and defensive ends. Sometimes he does good things offensively, but gives up a lot of that on the defensive end. He also can't be in late-games.
I'm still concerned with who closes. I think it has to be Kobe, Young, Lin, Hill and then who Davis? Ellington? Wes? I don't see a need for Price closing unless Lin is in foul trouble and no Sacre, no, no, never. |

We really, really need to win this one!!!

My guess is that it will be Boozer and Lin to the bench. |

It's the second game of a back to back and 3rd game in 4 days (all on the road) for New Orleans. Lakers should definitely have the advantage in the health department. |

Is anyone really expecting anything different with this line-up change? it's not the players in the starting line-up that is costing us games... it's the fact that we don't have any offensive system to run... and it makes it worse when half of the players aren't good defenders...... |

More rim protection and Price is more experienced in a slow-down offense. It really didn't suit Lin. But Price is not good enough to be a starter and while some may disagree, I see no upgrade defensively overall. I think Lin/Kobe should have been staggered and Lin should play 32-35 minutes a game and close the first half and the game and play all minutes of OTs.
Will Kobe play less minutes? That's a problem Byron hasn't addressed as Kobe does not finish games well most of the time. More rest and he's the closer and may get back to finishing stronger, but he needs less minutes and more rest. |

Ed Davis doesn't have the confidence to play starters minutes... and it's likely he's gonna be in foul trouble all game long.... he also has looked awful for a month now..... expect the loses to pile up. |
