ya, my only concern would be his shooting, he shot 37% from the line but didn't average even one made 3pointer so I don't know? but even if his ball handling is great, it doesn't have to be in the tri offence

He's not a PG, but the question is can he defend PGs? Whoever we acquire to run the point, wouldn't really be the facilator (see Odom/Walton), so it's always a question of defense.

As for his shooting, trust me when I say playing with Kobe will improve his FG%.

like I said earlier, I don't know much about him but hes just a little taller that a normal point, hes not a big guy, and we did get him for his defence, but if he can't shoot he won't fit into the offence

I don't think we got him for that.

IMO it was to replace the athleticism that George brought from the wing position.

I was thinking Evans was brought in to spell relief for Kobe, but you're probably right that he is George's replacement.

When we had Harp at PG we had Horry/Snaq to clean up the mess when he got beat off the dribble. Kwame/Odom arn't going to be able to protect the paint to the same degree. Therefore we need a PG who can keep his man in front of him. Evens is not that man.

unless we can get a shot-blocking power forward to play next to kwame.

GREAT solution. lol.

Rather than get a point guard, let's play a SG/SF at the 1, and then go acquire another player to make up for the speed difference. Nice.

with odom in the lineup sure Evans could pose as a point guard but i doubt he starts the offense.

evans is a wing player...he'll be out on the perimeter playing D as a 2 or 3...and he'll be in the corner draining 3 balls...

Man it will nice to have a fluid athlete running the floor along with Kobe who can finish. I'm sick of watching Devean getting blocked by the rim or showing the ball too early and getting stuffed.

He won't be a PG, because the triangle doesn't have a PG. It has a lead guard.

No Evans is more a 3 than anything else.Very strong. And defends the 3 best and a decent defender at the 2.But 1's are way out of his league, too quick.

Plus he plays the wing best.Odom will be the lead on offense. And a combo of Smush/sasha.Farmar will guard the 1's.....

Yeah, and this idea of Evans not being able to shoot really throws me.

This guy can stroke it.

Go Lakers!

No. The guy does not dribble well enough. It wouldn't make sense to tire Kobe by having him bring the ball up the floor most of the time.

I don't think he can. He has trouble with quicker SF's and SG's.
