"As my buddy @KBergCBS wrote, the Knicks are prepared to trade Jose Calderon, if there's a taker. Also: everyone else not named Carmelo."
What do you guys think? Not too familiar with the guy and he writes for BR but if true who if anyone should the FO go after? |

No they wouldn't, and that makes no sense. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts! |

The ONLY reason they re-signed him is for PR and Dolan.
Wouldnt surprise me if they traded him or atleast Phil would love to. |

I really think that if the Knicks want to be relevant again, they should strongly consider trading Melo. I'm sure some fringe playoff teams would be willing to give up some picks, such as PHX.
By the time they have some young pieces ready to contribute, Melo would be about 33 and past him prime. Sure, his game does not rely on athleticism but his game won't be improving either without it. You don't pay a guy 100+million to just be pretty good. |

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Truth be told there's only one player on that roster not named Melo I would take a chance on and that's Stoudemire, but the only way I would want the Lakers to seek is services would be on a buyout scenario, where he is bought out and released and the Lakers picked him up as a Free Agent.
Melo would be and would have been ideal, but we all know how that went down.
Amare is a proven vet and I believe he has a couple more seasons left in the tank to possibly get a shot as a championship.
He and Kobe on their last leg could be formidable, but some serious youth would have to play a factor. |

I wonder if Charlotte would consider giving Phil his 2nd generation Ron Artest.
Stephenson for Calderon and Early
Stephenson can try to turn it around since he'll be the #1 option in NY when Melo shuts it down.
Charlotte can move Mo to SG where he belongs and have Jose be the primary playmaker. Mo and Calderon form the perimeter would surely compliment Jefferson's offensive game. Mo and Calderon on the court together is a nightmare defensively for sure. Good thing they have henderson. |
