Collin mentioned on his show today he heard from 2 sources outside of ESPN saying Love will sign with Lakers this summer. i prefer Aldridge over Love but i think he either stays or go to one of the Texas teams. personally, before the draft lottery, i would be totally against signing Love for max, but since we are getting the no.2 pick and either Towns or Okafor, i won't have any issue with Love (best stretch four) playing alongside with one of those two rookies (especially Okafor who's a more back to basket center). any thoughts?

I'm down. I think Love can be used must better in a system that can utilize his strengths better.

That idiot doesn't know anything. He also said last off season that Melo was coming to the Lakers.

He just regurgitates rumors that are already circulating.

He was being used as a decoy in Cleveland. He is much more than the stretch 4 that they wanted him to be and if Byron Scott builds the offense around him, he will be putting up numbers like in minny 25+ points and 12+ rebounds. Add Okafor drawing doubles in the post and Randles energy off the bench, the Lakers could have an elite frontcourt in a few years.

The ONLY reason I'm not completely against Love coming to the Lakers is that he's still pretty young.

Though that's almost cancelled out due to the fact that he's a bit injury prone.

Even if he was healthy it's been proven that he's not good enough to be a franchise cornerstone. If healthy he's a decent #2.

I think the FO/Byron is going to really careful with our young talent. Having Love may give more time to ease these players in. I don't see Randle playing 30+ minutes.. or Towns/Okafor.

So would OKAFOR / LOVE / RANDLE just split time at 5 and 4 or would Love or Randle play some SF at times?

If Love is receiving the Max there will be politics no matter how great Randle is playing.

Have we given up on Julius Randle as the PF of the future already?

There are so many good players at the 2 and 3 in this year's free-agency pool that play both ends of the floor.

this is my concern against Randal, he's too small to play starter's minutes at PF and is too slow to play the modern day SF position. i wouldn't mind trading him to Knicks for no. 4 pick to draft either Russell or Winslow, that's if we land K Love.

I always thought Blake Griffin n Kevin Love are decent #2 players'

Would be epic battles Griffin vs Love in Staples..

Love is listed as 6'10'', i don't think Randle is that tall, maybe 6'8''

Love will be a good fit with Okafor or Towns.

Unfortunately for Randle, as of right now he is still a rookie and both Okafor and Towns are better prospects. I like Randle but we haven't seen enough of him to give him the starting spot.
I think coming off the bench as a backup for Love will help him. It will keep him hungry and he will learn from one of the best PF today who is also undersized.

Love is not a #1 option player but it'll be good to have him when a #1 option becomes available in FA. We might even acquire one through trades. Mitch said that the Lakers have no time to build through the draft. Signing Love would be a step in that direction.

It's crazy how much getting the #2 pick changed our rebuilding situation.
