It's official. Looks like the Bucks are shedding salary, and they got their backup to Bobby Simmons.

L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Chris Mihm
7-0 C from Texas
10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26.2 minutes

Aaron McKie
6-5 SG from Temple
0.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.8 apg in 8.6 minutes

Smush Parker
6-4 PG from Fordham
11.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 33.8 minutes
Incoming

Andre Miller
6-2 PG from Utah
13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.2 apg in 35.9 minutes
Change in team outlook: -8.5 ppg, -6.7 rpg, and +2.7 apg.

Denver Trade Breakdown
Outgoing

Andre Miller
6-2 PG from Utah
13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.2 apg in 35.9 minutes
Incoming

Chris Mihm
7-0 C from Texas
10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26.2 minutes

Aaron McKie
6-5 SG from Temple
0.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.8 apg in 8.6 minutes

Smush Parker
6-4 PG from Fordham
11.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 33.8 minutes
Change in team outlook: +8.5 ppg, +6.7 rpg, and -2.7 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to L.A. Lakers and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

What is Milwalkee going to do if one of their big men go down? Skinner would be the only backup, and you'd think Noel would be a good enough backup SF instead of Patterson.

Gadzuric is the other backup. So if I remember correctly that gives them:

C: Bogut/Gadzuric
PF: Villanueva/Skinner

Patterson gives them a bit more attitude. If you look at that team, they've got talent, but they're kinda soft. Of course, Patterson could just as easily end up in jail .

And that's before Melo's new contract kicks in.

BTW, this essentially makes Martin, available on the cheap.

Asleep-at-the-switch-Mitch failed to act once again. To think that we could have had a #1 overall bust or the NannyStopper.

Argh!!

Not if you take his contract into consideration. KMart is severly overpaid, and has questionable health (knees) and a questionable attitude. I'd hesitate to even take him and his salary for nothing right now.

I don't get this trade. Denver is in need of a guard or sf, so they are looking to sign Bonzi Wells. They just resigned Nene, have Martin, and Camby. Why make the trade for Smith when that leaves your front court even more vulnerable?

Unless they are already committed to moving Martin.

^^^ Yeah, but Camby, Martin and Nene are all always injured, so they definitely need depth in the frontcourt. But year, all of their contracts are horrible.

Smith can play SF too. They probably got him because they have a deal lined up for K-Mart.

My guess is that K-Mart ends up in New York.

Oh man, Knicks fans haven't been crapped on enough? They need that drama too? That would be classic. Even better if Denver only takes some of New York's more manageable contracts. We can start calling them the Toxic Avengers. I'm calling it right now. Quentin Richardson, Nate Robinson and Mardy Collins for Martin.

Imagine it. You'd have Kenyon, Frye, Jefferies, David Lee, Malik Rose, and Mo Taylor all wanting PT at PF. You'd want to play Frye, because he's a natural PF and represents the best future outlook for that position on the team. But then you'd have Kenyon and Rose whining about playing time, Lee (another good solid young guy) counting the days he can move to another team, Jefferies looking to get more time at SF, and Mo Taylor grinning as he eats another cheesburger. Sucks to be a knicks fan.

I would laugh, if we didn't have the other biggest bust at number 1 on our roster.

Atleast Smith showed some offensive skill. Kwame is just relying on his elite size and athleticism.

Kinda sad.

Smith has neither elite size & athleticism nor elite skill level & heart.

That is pathetic at #1.

At least Kwame has eltie size and athleticism to fall back on.

Yes, true, but sometimes his play ages me..... If he continues to play the same, I won't be able to buy green bananas after next year.
